You can't tell me any of these songs aren't great:

I Feel Like Dying
I Miss My Dawgs
Hustler Musik (classic IMO)
Shooter
Love Me or Hate Me
Tie My Hands
Shoot Me Down
DontGetIt

Tha Carter II and Tha Carter III are great albums, great listenability and replay value.

I went through my Wayne hating phasWe too, then I realized I was just following a trend, it's the "in" thing to do. He isn't 2Pac or Eminem, but who said he has to be?

Wow I agree with everything you've said about Wayne in this thread. I've never been able to put it into words but you did it perfectly.

I know there's rappers that can RAP circles around Lil Wayne but it's not all about the rapping, for me atleast. Another thing just because some likes Wayne that doesn't mean they have a bad taste in music. I listen to underground (Diabolic, JMT, AOTP, Chino XL, Bekay, etc.), which doesn't mean I know all there is to know about hip-hop but I'm not just somebody that listens to a rapper for swagg or some stupid shit like that.

I'll shut up bc I don't make long posts and can't word my thoughts together properly right now haha.

Those songs are NOTHING compared to anything Eminem has done.

Lil Wayne is an image. He isn't a rapper. He can hardly talk let alone rap. He has terrible lyrics and delivery, an annoying voice, and can hardly flow on beat. He doesn't produce. He doesn't do anything except get high a fuck, step into a boot, and mumble random shit into a microphone. Then, after a producer auto-tunes and reworks his verse, "fans" like you claim to listen to it and call him the best rapper ever. Most of Lil Wayne's fans honestly hadn't heard him before Lollipop.. Most of his fans today are 16 year old girls. The same ones who like Justin Bieber. Black dudes hardly even like him still. It's just girls. Because of his dread locks, lip ring, and skinny jeans, Lil Wayne is an pop image, not a skilled rapper.

All opinions. You're entitled to them.
Like that guy said those songs alone prove your wrong and this is a guy who gives 90% of his music away to fans.

Since it's all very repetitious and one dimensional/lazy thank God you don't get charged for it.
Also if you really think Eminem greatly outshined Wayne on their songs together your lieing to yourself, an insult to say hes 10th of an MC Eminem is? Lol...Sounds like you have personal issues with Wayne outside of music.

Wayne did about as well as Eminem...today's Eminem, which is just a really embarrassing shell of himself. Wayne is as good as he's going to be and he kept pace with the 2nd wackest version of Eminem. (After Relapse)
In your case hating Wayne is the "cool thing to do", you first heard Wayne when Lollipop came out right? Your the type of guy that would have heard Ass like that from Eminem and dismissed his whole catalogue if you hadn't found him earlier instead of checking for all the gems in his catalogue, Wayne has MANY.

Opinion but I've checked out so many Wayne songs and I don't put them on my MP3. I burn them to party CD's. I don't enjoy listening to him rap. He gets people moving though, especially when drunk, and his production is good. My favorite Wayne song is "Something You Forgot". I loved that song. Sitting here now I can't recall one Wayne lyric but I remember the beat and the sample. Same for "I Feel Like Dying" which is EXTREMELY overrated even for a Wayne song.

The sad thing is you can say the exact same about Eminem if your ignorant enough and have only heard his singles or completely drugged out shit lol. Infact i hear people using the exact same things against Eminem who started listening to him during the Encore period. Who do you think most Eminem fans are btw? He has the same fanbase as Wayne.

Those songs/albums/mixtapes are GREAT and alone prove everything you said to be stupid. Also don't act like Lil Wayne wasnt selling albums where hes shouting "Mainstream NO!!!" like Carter 2 for 250k first week and 2x plat with very basically no promotion at that time other than his own music and none of this "image" you talk about. You are as bad as the people that say Eminem is selling now because hes gone to a more "white image" and is rapping in fields...

This isn't blind hate either, his music is THAT shitty to me. He has a handful of decent songs, out of his whole discography, and people just eat the shit up. It would take me less than 10 minutes, maybe even less than 5, to write a Lil Wayne song

T.I. is 10000 times better than Wayne, and T.I. is not exactly the best lyricist

No, I don't have anything against Lil Wayne. He makes shitty music, then gets called the best rapper alive for it. Why would I have some personal vendetta against him? I don't know the guy, never talked to him, even though he sounds like a dumbass from what I hear in interviews

Don't assume anything, the first Wayne song I ever heard was Fireman. I heard it at a party, and I hated it. I've heard nearly every Lil Wayne song from Tha Carter II up, and he hasn't produced many "gems" out of them. Have you ever even stopped to think, for one second, that the people on this forum don't like Wayne because of his music? It's not blind hate at all, and to be honest, I don't even hate the guy. If he can produce a good album out of Tha Carter IV, then I might like the guy. But, he hasn't made anything I like so far, my favorite song from Wayne is fucking Drop The World for god's sake, off of arguably his shittiest album. That's proof I don't hate the guy just to be hating, it's fucking stupid and immature to hate an artist when you haven't even heard their music. And I have heard Wayne's music. Don't EVER assume anything about someone you don't even know, I don't do that to any of you fuckers, I expect the same back

He IS NOT a tenth of the MC Eminem is. He's not. He's a fake blood, horrible lyricist, he hasn't made a single beat for himself, and he hops on other people's songs to get himself even more out there. And for your information (another thing you assumed) I didn't even get into Eminem until 2007. I heard Encore second, The Eminem Show first. Encore wasn't that bad to me the first time I heard it, because I was still new to rap, so it made me interested in checking out his other albums. The same thing with Wayne, and what's funny is, I don't have a problem with Lollipop. It's a horrible song, but it's enjoyable to listen to. Shows how much you know, it's funny how clueless YOU are. You were literally wrong in ALL of your assumptions :coffee:

If you have heard the Carter 2 in its entirety and think hes a terrible lyricist theres 2 things i can safely say

You either:

1) Don't know what the fuck your talking about and just are following a trend of people hating whats perceived as "cool"
2) Expect and want Wayne to rap about the same topics as someone like Eminem who was raised completely differently and because you dont like what Wayne raps about you put it down to bad lyricism.

I expect Wayne to be real. And he's not. I don't like when rappers just rap about their money. I don't respect him as an artist for that. Tha Carter 2 is not a bad album, you're right. But still, it's really not that great in my eyes. It's also pretty poor lyricism, to me at least. Wayne has his moments of decent-ness, but I don't see it often, to be honest.

Like I said dude, if Tha Carter IV is great, then it's great. I won't argue differently. That way I may grow to like Wayne. You see, I am usually very open about music, but Wayne really hasn't struck me yet. I want to like Wayne, but I just can't until he makes something I can actually stand to listen to. You and I obviously have different tastes in music if you think Wayne is close to Em, even now. This argument is over
