The "only eminem fans" statement is far from true. I'm not on either side of this argument, except for the fact I can't stand Canibus. I keep my opinions about artists -that I don't like- to myself, for the most part, but for you to say that, "only eminem fans dislike canibus." Is a ridiculously absurd generalization. I dislike Canibus for most of the reasons stated above (which are very valid points) He IS a pretentious fucktard in his music; While holding very little, if any, validity as far as knowledge goes. He has no accolades to show as far as intellect is concerned. Canibus reads about conspiracies, astronomy and religions, then recites half-witted rhymes. In all honesty, none of his work is 'his own'. By that, I mean that he only uses the work and research of others; Throws it together and makes it rhyme.
He has a very minor cult following of people -mostly white teenagers- who want to be rebellious and believe that the U.S. Gov't is out to dominate the world; While simultaneously contacting extraterrestrials for blowjobs. I mean, really? I'm far from naive in my ways of thinking; But to come to the presumptuous conclusion that Canibus is somehow a genius and has dicovered the secrets of the universe is not only ignorant -in terms of discrediting any work real scientists have done-, it's downright juvenile.
There are more canibus lines that are faulty than there are that aren't. And no, I'm not a 'stan' and I don't dislike people for no reason. My ultimate reason for disliking Bis is the fact his music, in my humble opinion, is terrible. I can't stand his voice and he never says anything relevant. Much the same reason I can't stand Immortal Tech or any other "revolutionary rapper". See, if you're going to make music about "revolution" and how corrupt the gov't is, why aren't you doing something about it? Granted, I respect I.T. because he's an actual activist and attempts to do something to change the world. But most of this sub-genre only make this type of music to be counter-cultural. "nonconformity is the ultimate form of conformity."
That's just my two sense.
