Yeah if you suck you do warrant a diss, but Asher roth only sucks in comparison to very good hip-hop. He doesn't suck bad enough to deserve an out of the blue, hard-hitting diss like this.
In fact he doesn't suck at all. His college geek themes are a bit corny and everything but he puts time into his penmanship, he rhymes well and he's trying to be original. Even if he's not always succeeding, he's trying to be sincere and be himself. Which is commendable in itself.
There are MUCH worse rappers with much less redeemable qualities which not even half of Asher's skill which are more deserving of disses like this, which he simply isn't targeting because they're not white and getting successful.

The punch lines and the rhyming are sick as fuck... and even if the Slim impersonator accusations aren't that hard-hitting (they're certainly not WEAK), the way these attacks on his character are executed are brilliant.
Coincidence his voice is like a twin or is he bitin' Slim?
Hmm, I'm running with the latter like a fireman
I didn't dispute the quality of the rhyming or lyricism. It's good, I just said 'it's alright' as a whole as, whilst the execution is good - Due to the fact he's dissing Asher on false grounds, IMO, it loses a lot of sting and just comes across as bitterness.
The accusations aren't weak in their execution no, but they're weak in validity.
His content, style and delivery are nothing like Em's. He's a suburban college kid who's spent the later part of his life so far smoking weed, having college parties and fucking around - And that's what he puts into his music. You can't blame him if his voice naturally sounds a bit like Em's which it doesn't anyway, he's from Phily and that's the accent you hear, and his delivery and style are nothing like his.
Like Asher said it's just a lazy comparison. People are always desperate to compare any new white successful rapper to Eminem. They've done it with every single one despite the fact none of them sound anything like him. There's more grounds to compare fucking Charles Hamilton or Hopsin to Eminem if we're going by themes and execution.
But they don't, because they're black. It's a race comparison and however good Copywrite and this diss are, it's a diss from bitterness. I don't even doubt that he may believe in what he's saying but it's not true at all.
