Rolling Stone; Elton John: New Pop Classics Playlist

He has Em "LTWYL" #3

3. "Love The Way You Lie" Eminem, 2010

He always makes me laugh, and he makes me think about things. But his great talent is to mix the rap with great melody lines. The chorus, when Rihanna starts singing, just takes off. He's the number-one rapper for me.

FWIW...#1 was a Bob Dylan song from 2006 and #2 was an Amy Winehouse song from 2007.

Yes, Elton gave his top ten. It's the same issue where Nas gave his Top Ten favorite lyricists songs. It's the latest "The Playlist Issue".

I've always thought it was cool that a highly respected gay musician like Elton John, who is a legend (not in my eyes, but for the vast majority in the music industry) publicly praises Eminem or gives him props.

He's done it quite a few times, and of course we all know about THAT Grammys performance, and how Elton John is Eminem's sponsor and helps him with the whole drug thing.

But I mean just general praise he often gives him every now and then. Because as we all know, 95% of gay people HATE Eminem (and that is probably no exaggeration), so I think it's cool that someone like Elton is intelligent enough to see Eminem's lyrics for what they are, and not take it literally.

I can't think of another gay musician from the top of my head, that's seal of approval is worth more than Elton's.

Don't forget the guy has had a career that has spanned four decades, and has sold over 250 million albums worldwide. He also risks upsetting his own gay fanbase, for praising someone like Eminem who they consider homophobic.

If ever I see another gay bitch about Eminem because he said 'faggot' in a song I will say.....Elton John likes him, so FUCK YOU!

To be honest, I think 95% of the 'general' public think he's a homophobe, not just people who are gay.

Yes, it is.

A lot of self-proclaimed representatives of gays hate Eminem. Not the same thing.

Maybe most gays do, maybe not, but certainly not 95%. After all, most gays have a brain.

FWIW, Lady Gaga "Bad Romance" was #10 on the list Elton did. Kanye West had a song at #8 on that list "See You Now".

So Em is higher on the list then both of those.

I'm surprised that Lady Gaga is on the list after his recent critsicm of todays popstars.

Pop doesn't have to be lady gaga pop,an hip hop song can also be considered pop.
