As for the Jay-Z debate; I know he has released some bullshit but there's enough material/proof to justify his place amongst the greats. Along with Eminem, he is one of the reasons that hip hop is so popular today.

Kanye isn't nowhere near to The Top-5 ever.If a magazine or a webiste ask legendary rappers now 2010 about their Top-5 MC's I don't think many of them will put Kanye in their Top-5 ever.
First of all Kanye isn't a Rapper.Is good as a producer no doubt and he has his own style and that's good for him and generally for music.But he can't rap.

Because he's not an amazing rapper...as an all around artist, yes, he is great. As a rapper, he is merely good at it. Kanye hasn't written anything like Lose Yourself or 8 Mile. Not saying he can't, but to really put him in top 5, when really he's good at making music and albums, but he's not that great of a rapper, is madness. This Kanye dickriding is getting annoying, and it's not just you (even though you're the king of them) but it's just a few others on this forum. It's almost as annoying as this Lil B shit that all of the sudden just popped up. He made a great (not amazing or classic) album that is being MAD overrated right now

And before you start, I'm not a fucking "hater". I love Kanye's music, especially his recent album which I consider one of my favorites this year just behind Recovery. He's just...not the lyricist or the rapper to stand with the best. He is better than Wayne though, so...yeah, I'll give him that
