"While it has not been confirmed by officials at Interscope, reliable sources are saying that Dr. Dre's long-awaited Detox will be given a February 2011 release date.
Along with Eminem, Skylar Grey, Snoop Dogg, Akon and Slim Da Mobsta, Jay-Z, La Roux and The Game are also expected to appear on Detox.
Last week Dre spoke to radio personality Big Boy and said the project was almost finished. "I see the finish line right now. I’m wrapping it up. I need about two or three more songs, and hopefully I’ll start the mixing process at the end of next month."
there are no quotes from Dr. Dre or any label representatives , so how is this official ?
i dont mean to make a big deal out of this, but the name of the thread is Dr. Dre confirms Detox features, when realistically he hasn't even confirmed the release date yet, mentioned any other song names, given the album cover...nothing. Sure, we got Kush but don't be too surprised if the album gets pushed back again, as he continues searching for those two or three more songs. if you do your research on Kush, you will find that Dre didn't even want to release it yet, and didn't want it to be a single. But it leaked, just this time it was a high quality leak, unlike the Under Pressure song with Jay-Z. He doesn't want people to get the impression that it's going to be a Chronic 2011, and said this is the only song with this type of subject matter. The only reason he was so fast to roll with this one and release it as an official itunes single is because of the overwhelmingly positive response it received. He has so much more up his sleeve than this song though, and that is saying a lot.
I missed the has not been confirmed, part, so excuse me. I saw it and jumped the gun, trying to beat anyone else who might make the topic
And I knew Dre didn't want Kush to be released yet...the unmastered version leaked, so he just decided to release the mastered song
