Eminem filming a movie called "Southpaw"?

Sons of Anarchy is one of the best shows on TV, so it seems like a good writer is behind this. Boxing movies are kind of played out tho. Mark Wahlberg's movie didn't do shit at the box office this past weekend.

Why Em gotta play the tough guy all the time? He is the size of a welterweight tho. Mayweather is about 5'7 145. That's Em's size. He's still gonna have to get ripped. I can see this movie getting re-cast or cancelled. Em was suppose to be in a lot of other movies that never happened.

I personally think the movie is going to be horrible if it happens. Em wouldn't be a believable boxer.

The person responsible for buying the movie idea is the person brought in by Steven Spielberg to run things at Dreamworks now - Stacy Snider, it's not just a small exec, the studio chief is responsible for bringing the idea (with Eminem attached) to the studio - that means the movie is 100% going to be made.

As for the success of the Wahlberg movie, well some movies are not made for box office success, but rather critical success which brings the studio critical acclaim and awards. The Fighter had a limited opening in terms of screenings, with its widest release being a slim 4 theaters. These types of movies all get their budget back mostly with DVD sales. For the record, The Fighter was the second highest nominated film at the Golden Globes today being nominated in ALL of the main categories - Best Motion Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor/Actress.

Wanna hear a fun fact - The Fighter was written by Scott Silver, and the last screenplay he wrote was 8 mile. And make no mistakes, Kurt Sutter is a better writer than Silver. The key now is to get a director as good as David O.Russell (The Fighter).

Spielberg and Snider (person responsible for this movie) are the people chosen to take into the next generation.

This movie will be given every chance to be big, considering Snider bought it.

it's pretty interesting to see how the number of Eminem search results on google keeps increasing cuz of the movie confirmation. i remember it was at 128 million earlier, now it's almost 400 million. i know, i'm such a stan for noticing something trivial like that
