T.I. - Not yet, but King is the closest to a classic he's gotten so far

Lil Wayne - Not yet. Probably never will, but I'm open-minded enough about music to give him a shot with C4. A lot of Wayne fans don't exactly understand what a classic IS, and they throw it around so much that it's basically useless. Especially when they call albums like C3 a classic

And no, I'm not a hater. I tried listening to C3 AGAIN yesterday, and...I just couldn't. I can't stand it, it's just not for me. I had listened to 6'7" (which far outshines ANYTHING on C3) and decided to give C3 a quick spin and...it was the quickest spin ever lol

Kanye West - In my own personal opinion, I think My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is the closest to a classic album that Kanye has made. It has only one truly bad song that I just cannot STAND (Devil In A New Dress), and that song alone is so bad to me that it tarnishes my memory of MBDTF. I think MBDTF is a modern classic, a classic by 2010 standards. But, it's not a classic in the same vein as The Marshall Mathers LP or Illmatic

Only classic there. All Kanye's albums have been very strong though - even 808. In my opinion this is Kanye's peak lyrically and production wise.

Lil Wayne's Carter 3 had the potential but was let down by a handful of crappy songs and beats (in my opinion C2 isn't a better album).

T.I., no. Solid rapper but nothing else. Lyrically he is too limited and 9 out of 10 beats he chooses are too radio friendly and nothing spectacular.

I haven't really listened too any of these rappers closely (solo), other then T.I. but if I was ever gonna be listening to the other two it would be because they are rapping with Eminem, so my vote can't really count.

& as for T.I. I haven't really listened too a full album of his, I probably only listened too a few tracks to be honest. But I like what i've heard.

people like to call an album "classic" after it's been released for a month, but to me it takes a lot more for an album to be a true classic

:y:
Only time(years) indicates if an album will be considered classic. The legacy of any album recognized or not after some years.
When Nas's Illmatic released not nor did the 1/5 of the sensation as Big's Ready to Die..But after years Illmatic considered greater than Ready to Die.

A classic to me is you can listen to it without skipping a track and it begins a story and ends a story all on the same album. And it sets the bar for albums following it and does something that no album before has ever done. MMLP, Illmatic, etc.

MBDTF is pretty damn close to classic but only time will tell. "Devil In A New Dress" through "Lost In The World" is such an amazing story told and told like never before. And to everyone that still don't like "Devil In A New Dress", if you keep listening to it, it might become your favorite song. I definitely like it a lot more now than I did when I first heard the album.
