Legalisation of Heroin

Postby snoop11978 » Mar 26th, '06, 01:49

Should Heroin be legalised?????

This especially has a big affect in Australia coz the main drug of choice on the st is Heroin. But it can should drugs be legalised

I know that this is a very touchy topic but i remember that i did it in school and made a winning arguments for the legalisation of heroin. Dont jump down my throat yet :'( Think about how the legalisation of it will help the community and the ppl that is addicted to it. And also the affect that the legalisation of alcohol has affected the community in yeah time.

And by the way legalisation doesnt mean that u can buy it in a shop it would be strict controled environment with docs and shooting rooms and only available to addicts not EVERYONE!!

I m not here to argue the point i just curious as to what ppl think :)

in ur situation in australia.... i think it could be helpful..... cus there would be a lot more control over the substance and they would be able to help the junkies maintain the habbit and ween them off of it and get them clean..... there fore it could iliminate the problem eventually.... i think they should do sumthin like that with weed up here... but im prety sure to many people would abuse it :(

WOW i didnt expect a such in depth NO. Thats all cool but did u know that Heroin is actually less harmful for a person than alcohol. With alcohol there is also withdrawal symptoms and a person can actually die from it. But there was never a reported death from heroin withdrawal.

At the moment the gov is subsidising a more addictive form of drug (ie brupenmorphine and also sumthing i cant remember) as a substitute to stop the withdrawal symptom for addicts.

But with legalisation addicts wouldnt have to commit crimes and also can lead a normal lifestyle (to a certain extend). And this would also put heroin off the st. and also out of the dealers and peddlers hands. But most importantly this would save lifes coz ppl would be under controlled environment and also the risk of UV disease would be minimal to none. Currently the statistics are that 90 % of ppl in jail in Aust are 4 drugs related crimes.

This idea was actually trialled overseas and the end result was very good. ;)

Its not a prevention for crime. It is more of a way to help addicts. I think that there is too much of a stigma involved in drugs. People are putting it in the back alley and shadows because they dont understand.

It is believe that 10% of the society are prone to addiction in one form or another. And if legalising heroin would keep it off the st. for one we would be able to do a more thorough study on it and learn more about it for the future to help ppl. Furthermore it would also help alot of young ppl because alot of them would not be able to get it being legalise and also off the dealers hands.
