Ok.

Eminem is always a number 1 candidate in the GOAT and best rapper alive discussions,he is the most successful rapper EVER,having sold over 80 million records worldwide and 35 million records in the US,he is a rap icon,and is a major influence on a lot of people,and he has the most dedicated fan
base.

I made this thread to see Eminem "Rapping Ability"

he has 3 undeniable classics(SSLP,MMLP,TES)
1 near-classic album (Relapse)
1 very solid and great album (Recovery) it just lacked a certain "spark"
1 not worth of mentioning peace of shit album,Encore (nikka had his reasons tho)

So i grade Eminem's rapping ability as in the following categories:

Concept:
Story telling: 4/5 (Stan,Deja Vu,Going Through Changes,As the world turns)
subject matter: 3/5 (wouldve been a full mark but it kinda gets hurt by some rather aimless tracks)

Skills:
Flow: 5/5 (EASILY)
Delivery: 4/5 (Recovery hurt this a little,but relapse helped to raise this IMO!)
Rhyming: 4.5/5 (wouldve been a full mark,just hurt by encore)
Multies: 4.5/5 (On Fire,Stay Wide Awake,Renegade)
Punchlines: 2/5 (some good ones,but he should quit those,he fails bad sometimes)
Breath Control: 4/5 (he has great breath control)

In my opinion :

CLASSIC ALBUMS : The Marshall Mathers LP, The Eminem Show
FANTASTIC ALBUMS : The Slim Shady LP, Relapse
OK ALBUMS : RECOVERY
NOT SO OK ALBUMS : ENCORE, INFINITE

Story Telling : 3/5 (HIGHLY overrated in this aspect)
Subject Matter : 4/5 (Was good for a long time, but then it got stale)
Flow : 5/5 (Do I need to say anything?)
Delivery : 4.5/5 (QUIT SHOUTING!)
Rhyming : 5/5 (storage booth/door hinge loose/four inch screws/foreign tools/orange juice)
Multies : 5/5 (One of the best in this aspect)
Punchlines : 1/5 (He should just go back to being witty)
Breath control : 5/5 (I'd give this a higher rating if I could)

FANTASTIC ALBUMS : Recovery, Relapse
OK ALBUMS : The Slim Shady LP (don't get pissed, I'm not the biggest fan of this album)
NOT SO OK ALBUMS : Encore

Story Telling : 5/5 (What he does best)
Subject Matter : 4/5 (Most of the times it's great, but sometimes not so much)
Flow : 5/5 (Em is a master of flows)
Delivery : 5/5 (With the exception of Encore, he puts his heart into his rhymes)
Rhyming : 5/5 (Incredible lyricist)
Multies : 5/5 (One of the best)
Punchlines : 3/5 (Sometimes great, sometimes okay, and sometimes not that great)
Breath control : 5/5 (Seen him live? Usually never fucks up)

Story Telling : 5/5 (One of the best of all-time in this aspect)
Subject Matter : 4/5 (Has covered so many topics, some stupid as fuck tho)
Flow : 4.5/5 (So many flows, almost all flawless, few are really shitty)
Delivery : 4/5 (Some of SSLP & Encore hurt this category)
Rhyming : 5/5 (Rock Bottom, Lose Yourself & Renegade)
Multies : 5/5 (One of the best if not THE best)
Punchlines : 2.5/5 (Recovery hurts this badly, he should go back to SSLP wit)
Breath control: 5/5 (Impeccable)

Classic Albums: The Slim Shady LP, The Marshall Mathers LP ,Recovery(my opinion i love the album) & The Eminem Show
Great Albums: Relapse(very close to a classic it is on the fence some days i like it more)
ok albums:Encore (more good songs then bad on here for me atleast just skip ass like that and every once in awhile big weenie and my first single have moments where they can be enjoyed by me i like rainman and just lose it < prob because this song was so overplayed when it came out and i like the vid haha)

Story Telling: 4.5/5 (great at it can make images in your head)
Subject Matter: 4.5/5 (talks about real life experiences)
Flow: 5/5 (master of flow slow, normal, fast)
Delivery: 5/5 (real good at it)
Multies: 5/5 (amazing)
Punchlines: 3/5 (some thing his punchlines are wack there dope to me 99% of the time)
Breath Control: 5/5 (never hear him not be able to handle himself in this category listen to his first tapes where he would just focus on rapping fast that molded into him doing things like despicable)

Great Albums: Relapse, Recovery, Infinite(In HQ)
OK albums:Encore (Horrible for a eminem album but you can appreciate it more after hearing some whack songs on the radio)

Storytelling: 5/5 (Even during Encore he had good storytelling)
Subject Matter: 4/5
Flow: 4.5/5 (His Soul Intent flow sucked I couldnt understand a fucking thing he said)
Delivery: 5/5
Multies: 5/5
Punchlines: 4/5 (I actually like most of his Recovery punchlines, but his slim shady era punchlines blow those out the fucking water)
Breath Control: 5/5 (Explains why he was able to run all those miles daily)

*The Marshall Mathers LP imo is the greatest album in Hip-Hop history with Biggie's Live after Death 2nd ever
*Recovery will be considered classic.
*Encore has some great/historic songs like Like Toy Soldiers and Mockingbird and objectively had a lot of success to put it in the category OK ALBUMS.
