Cage influenced Eminem to chane up his style after the SSLP?

Postby Manny_Boi » Dec 22nd, '10, 01:40

I was just thinking, Cage dissed Eminem because he was using his style(but made it a whole lot better) and Em took shots at him here and there. How did that so called beef end exactly? Was eminem just trying to prove to Cage he could change to any style he wanted?(Subliminal diss to cage on Rabbit Run I think)

lol Cage was rapping for a while
so when Em dropped The Slim Shady EP after Infinite it was questionable

"I'll listen to your demo tape & act like I don't like it...6 months later you hear your lyrics on my shit"

lol listen to some of Cage's earlier work like Radiohead, Agent Orange, or Crazy Man Ahead

then listen to Eminem songs like...Low Down Dirty & Just Don't Give a Fuck
they got some sort of respect for each other though...I heard Cage actually digs Em ?

plus it is fucking impossible to find a full version of Cage's Eminem diss "Bitch Lady"

Well I didn't say Cage stole Ems style it was actually the other way around. And I knew Cage was rapping way before him.

Cage accused him of biting his style, then described Eminem as having "tired old rhymes out of Detroit" or something along those lines.

Dude's fucking insane, though. He went from "wigger" to "emo,' essentially admitting the "wigger" put on was complete bullshit...which is cool on one hand, but makes the old him look pathetic on the other.

He thinks he stole his style just because Em was also white, pissed off and used cartoonish violence.

All of the guys in D12 rap like that, and it's more Redman than fucking Cage. Cage is only focusing on Em because he's white, he's seeing the colour instead of the style.

Becuase if he thinks Em stole his style, so did Proof, Bizarre, Kuniva, Mr. Porter and Swifty. Fact is none of them did, including Em, because Cage did not invent that style, nor did he invent being white / broke and pissed off.

Em was rapping a certain way on Infinite to get on radio. But if you listen properly you can still here his true character on there "people get in my face and ask if I wanna battle / then I chase 'em in a jason mask" - "I used to give a fuck / now I give a fuck less".

So after people thought he sounded like Nas / AZ, he let his true Detroit accent come out and went totally left-field to distance himself from it.

People accuse him of biting Masta Ace for using multies & Esham for his wicked shit which is all bullshit. Em never bit anyone he was inspired by some people and then he created his own style of slim shady where he insulted himself (saying he has aids & shit), funny ass background noises to go along with his rhymes & off the wall, opposite jokes & punchlines (premature birth/4 mins late for example)
Cage is just another horrorcore rapper that rhymes about violence in a deep voice, he was ill but never funny like slim shady was.

Masta Ace learned multis from Eminem, not the other way around. His style prior to 2001 was completely different.

To his credit, he did a helluva job mimicking the rhyme schemes of SSLP-style Eminem.

Because people are stupid.

I love Ace's early work (1989-1995) for it's simplicity, social commentary and humour but he didnt start using multies until Disposable Arts and his rhyme schemes on it are identical to SSLP Em's. He even paid homage to Em on Dont Understand ("I dont do white music, I dont do black music, I make rap music for hip-hop kids")

Of course he had his own twist on it in terms of subject matter and concepts, but there's no getting away from the fact Ace was hugely inspired by SSLP Em. Listen to ANY Ace song from 2001-2009.

Never saw the comparison, even though I like both.

I see it like this, If this were high school, Slim Shady would be the kid flying paper airplanes at the teacher and making fart sounds while Cage would be the kid in the back of the class eating worms and carving his arm up with an exacto knife............Slim Shady was a class clown when he came out, while Cage was the kid who might go columbine, I never saw the similarities between the guy who made me laugh and the guy who creeped me out, but Like I said I like both

*Shrugs*
