Album Concept Idea

Postby nujet2002 » Dec 21st, '10, 08:45

So I've been thinking about this and I thought this would be a great idea for one of his albums. Make an album that chronologically follows his life from birth until now in the order of the songs. Call it The Monologues of Marshall Mathers or something like that. However, I know this sounds kind of corny but I wouldn't want every song to be serious and about his life or even completely true, a song like Brain Damage could fit in for his grade school years. This idea I just think would perfect his storytelling and at the same time be an album that would be one of the greatest of all time. A lot of tracks from the past could fit on this album so its not like he'd be doing something completely different but I just think an album involving his whole life instead of just reflecting on most recent stuff would be great. And its not like he has to do the albums in the past tense about stuff that happened he can make certain songs present tense stories just with it taking place back then.

Just an idea.... feel free to shoot it down if you want.

its not a terrible idea. he just has so many songs that are already about his life it would probably seem a little old-newsish, but still awesome

Ya true but whatever album he does put out will probably have a lot of old newsish stuff about his life. He could even put a few Slim Shady persona songs for that era of his life in there with the whole Just Don't give a fuck feel and coming onto the rap scene. I'd really like to hear more of his 18-26 year old time period coming up in the rap game when he was still underground and the Chaos Kid time period. 1 or 2 new songs about or taking place in that era would be sweet.

I'm with you on that. Maybe this idea for an album would be best for his last album whenever that comes. One final recap of his life and career to close the curtain on it all.

It would be cool if he did a song with all of his accents, in chronological order. shouting does not count lol.

(left the keys in the vannnnnn accent) --> (may i have your attention plz) --> (fuck your little bitchass up) ---> (how the hell did he manage to get more felony charges) ---> (ah fuck fine I CAN'T TELL YOU WHAT IT RLY IS)

Gotta agree there. Although there is alot of stuff not already said like how it was failing 9th grade three times (yeah, i know there have been a couple lines but i want a whole song), His basketball career, being on tour, etc.

But i guess just something conceptual like Same Song and Dance, Seduction, Love the Way you lie etc would be much better. Relapse-style.

Listen to Almost famous

I wanted an album so rugged nobody could touch it.
Spent a million a track and went over my budget.
Now how in the fuck am I supposed to get out of debt?
I can't rap anymore, I just murdered the alphabet.

all I want is Eminem solo albums, cause he's 38, I don't want his next solo album to be his last, 2 or 3 more studio albums, 1 every year!!

but when does it matter what i want? it's what marshall wants... so let him surprise us

Yeah, it's not gonna work like that.
I feel like Eminem still has the ability to produce oneclassic album in him. But I doubt the next Eminem solo album is gonna come out before early 2012.

Good idea, but concept and story telling ideas don't make very good singles

You could probably make a playlist of this yourself.

My mom, Brain damage, Yellow brick road, 8 mile/rabbit run, Almost famous, How come
Etc etc to some up his early life and his climb to fame.

Then you're essentially picking tracks from the hat for his career stage. Never Over for Proofs death and you could end it with elevator to sum up his career.

You get the idea, and that's just off the top of my head and it's 2am here...
Fuck yeah, I'm a basket case, and I master this rap shit, 'till my ass gets wasted...
