Hip Hop fashion evolved...

Postby mcZu » Dec 22nd, '10, 00:25

Big Sean's views on Hip Hop's fashion.

I definitely think it's a good thing the way Hip Hop fashion has evolved. Wearing shirts 3 times your size just doesn't look good. Skinny jeans are a big no-no, though. That's just awful. Slim-fit buttons ups, with a normal fitting jeans is where it's at.

Thank God the baggy clothes stereo-type is slowly fading away. I hate it when people look at you and say, 'oh, you listen to rap? I couldn't tell, I mean, you don't even wear baggy clothes..'

Not to say I don't like baggy clothes, 'cause I do wear baggy clothes as well, but putting on a shirt or pants that's 3 times your size just looks silly.

Do you like the way Hip Hop fashion is heading?

As long as skinny jeans stay far, far away I'm good.

For Royce's sanity I hope skinny jeans never make it big in the Hip-hop culture. The guy would have a lot of beefing to do if that were the case :zipped:

I honestly think Em is helping bring hip hop fashion to the right place. Leather Jackets, Nice jeans, Kango, Nike Air Max

Personally I think Air Maxes are ugly... except for these SU Orange/White ones I saw but that was a special edition.

As for the OP, I agree it's definitely going in the right direction. I mean, I still wear a lot of baggy stuff but for the most part It's not anything like what hip hop as a whole was.

Yeah, not a big fan. There's an occasional color combo I like, as I said, but not enough to say I like the shoe as a whole.

What are you talking about? He's the one that started this whole evolution of super-w.iggers.. If it wasn't for Em wearing all that n.igger shit, 99% of the kids that wore it through out this decade, wouldn't have. Sure, he's finally being himself and not putting on that whole slim shady image, but still.. It's his fault it got as bad as it did; Almost entirely.

As for hip hop fashion? I've never been apart of it. I've always worn what I like which, since I was a teenager, has been mostly skating clothes. Not so much in recent years because of the fact I don't skate any longer.

My opinion on the matter is that hip hop fashion is now turning 'white'. What I mean by that is the fact that all these black dudes are wearing clothes that fit now. They're buying polos and sweaters. Cardagins and scarves... They're dressing like white people but they're acting as if they just discovered it. It's kinda funny, actually.

My style is like:

- Sagging Pants
- Shirt a little under my ass.
- Fuck slims, i wear normal jeans or baggy but when you sag a baggy it doesn't look that good, so i sag my normal jeans.
- Shoes like Nike Dunk, or low Adidas like those : http://www.schuh-you.com/bilder/blog/Ad ... lue-Red-06
- A belt. Yeah if i don't wear a fucking belt people will try to fucking take my pants out and make me look stupid. :tounge2:
- and a N-Y Hat.

It has to be something liike that and i really don't look like a W.igger. And where i live, people wears fucking skinny jeans with huge van's shoes. I fucking hate it.
They all look like that:
