Why Do People Consider Recovery Pop ?

Postby KieranLewisEM » Dec 27th, '10, 21:00

It really amuses me when i see people say Recovery is pop or little bit pop etc.How the hell is it ?. First off no song on it is 'Pop' or nor has any other Em album, his music always been hip hop since his career. People who say its to poppy must only hear the singles and think o look its rihanna and Pink there do pop and are big stars so that means eminem has gon pop.Well just cause rihanna is big in mainstream doesn't mean anything its just the same situation as Dido and liz Rodriguez's but there are just not as big as her but that aint rihannas fault because how big she is.Totally absurd statement labelling Recovery pop cause off the features. Finally taking the album as a whole people must be mad! Cold wind blows and Almost Famous specially are about raw as hip hop can get.All off the songs on it are all hip hop and to his own tastes like he has been doing all his albums.

It is his most commerical, but it's most definitely not a pop album, in any way. I don't consider any song on Recovery to be a pop song

I still don't consider LTWYL pop. It's definitely a hip hop song, it just happens to be very catchy for most people

LTWYL is not pop at all.Ur just calling it that cause off how big it was and the chorus by rihanna. The verses are still well delivered and not watered down and still makes it feel like a eminem track.Personally i dont like the song at all but it by no means pop.People really do misunderstand the meaning of pop.Pop is a whole different genre to hip hop

I agree, Recovery is not pop, nevertheless Em always included pop in his music, even more since The Eminem Show, more & more on Recovery. There's no mystery that Em is mainstream, so he includes some popular music in his, but it's still hip hop... in my opinion of course.

I don't see how LTWYL is pop. Pop music is geared towards teenage romance, this song is about domestic violence.

LTWYL is not a poppy song, but the chorus sure doesn't help it's cause. It's just a horrible annoying poorly executed song for Em's standards.

Yeah, a guy singing the LTWYL hook wouldn't be weird at all.

Yeah it would be, but I was being sarcastic.

@Geno, mad? Sorry I'm not familiar with that cool internet slang people use when they can't think of anything else to say.

It's closer to being a rock album than a pop album if you ask me (....still hip hop).

Cold wind blows, Talkin 2 myself, Won't back down, Going through changes, Space bound, Almost famous, 25 to life and Love the way you lie all have elements from rock music (some more than others).
