Omega wrote:Just as a little bonus I decided to explain a little bit more about each signature. Some of you might find this interesting:
- The Cold Wind Blows is pretty easy. It has a cyan color similar to that of a cold winter. The background texture was ice and I distorted it to give it a more striking effect.
- T2M is kind of a "reinvigorating" song, so that's why I chose the gold color and that picture of particles going up, as if Em is rising again.
- On Fire was probably my favorite of 'em all. That fire effect took me quite a lot of time, after a couple of smudging and filters. I threw a nice texture on top to make the effect look more dramatic.
- WBD sounds like a pretty grungy song so I put ink splatters all over the yellow background and 3 different Eminem's since he raps relentlessly throughout the song, as if he never will shut up.
- WTP is pretty trashy so I went with a similar grungy look to it. To cover the white space, I used text as a texture and the font was supposed to make it look classy, but pretentious at the same time.
- GTC is pretty easy to get. Em is laying on the bed with distortion effects going around him, as if he's facing changes. The background is dramatic and mellow, but at the same time you can see light, knowing that there's light at the end of the tunnel.
- Not Afraid is kind of a spiritual song, so I chose a relaxed clouds background and a noisy texture on top.
- Seduction was one of my favorites. I see violet/magenta when I hear the song, and that wave effect you see behind Em is the synth beat of the song.
- No Love has a "blurred" Eminem that represents how fast he raps in the song.
- In Spacebound Em is in the foreground of a Supernova image, and there's some distortion and erasing to make the images blend together.
- Cinderella Man has a color theme similar to that of a hurricane, plus there's lighting since he makes a lot of references about that in the song.
- 25 To Life is pretty dark. Em is on a jail but, again, there's light at the end of the "tunnel". I put a rusty texture to make it more fucked up too.
- I see orange/yellow whenever I hear So Bad (probably because of the pineapple line lol). Here I played with brushes and layers.
- The reason why Em is the only person in color in Almost Famous is because, when he is rapping, nothing else in the world exists for him. It's as if his only focus is to spit and school his adversary. Grungy texture on top because of the "rock-ish" type of beat.
- The background in LTWYL took me a lot. It was a process of experimentation and trial and error, but I think it's one of my favorites. The scratched texture represents the content of the song.
- You Are Never Over is kind of a sad song, yet extremely motivational, so that's why I tried to make it as happy as possible. Em raising his hand and Proof image looking at him in the back from the golden sky.
- Untitled was a pretty random song so I made random things in this sign. Played with brushes, cyan colors again and used the Recovery logo as texture and also as a representation that such an epic CD ends with this song.
- I wanted Ridaz to have a night look to it, so that's why I put Em on the foreground with D12 in the background of a dark alley, where club fights mostly take place.
- Session One has a pretty rock-ish beat so I made this sign look pretty grungy and badass. Since all of them killed the song, they are all in the foreground.
Fuck I love Recovery so much. It was easy to come with different concepts for each sign since all of the songs are so varied and have strong content. I think that's another of the reasons why the album is so special.
