I like the mixtape idea better than releasing the album just because some guy started leaking it. If he'd wanted the album out there, it would be. He wasn't pleased with it, so he didn't release it. Em's a perfectionist. King Mathers obviously wasn't what he wanted the world to see.

R2 might have not even existed....He probably just said there would be a sequel with similar music to piss people off and then surprised them with announcing Recovery.


Eminem has always said that he tries to sound different on every album...I just don't see him releasing 2 albums that sound so similar in terms of content.

I think their whole plan for Eminem was to make a horrorcore album for a comeback to confuse the masses into thinking that he fell off and then 1 year later put out an album full of emotional songs....Brilliant.

Relapse 2 probably did exist. I'm just being skeptical because I could imagine Interscope scheming up something like making an album full of horrocore type of shit with Eminem rapping in a weird voice to confuse the masses into thinking he fell off and then 1 year later Recovery....

I'm sure Eminem WANTED a sequel but I'm thinking once he submitted the final copy of Relapse to Interscope to listen to the album and make sure everything was right for release, they probably came up with the idea of releasing it and making an announcement of putting out a sequel as a continuation just to fool the masses who don't understand the music into thinking that Em fell off.

Because I'm sure Interscope was well-aware of the backlash that the album would get from fans and critics because of the content and the voices Em was doing.
