Recovery was a fantastic album, but some of the beats were pretty bad.

I still wish he would produce more of his own tracks.

Em usually writes to the beat, I don't see how anyone can be surprised...if he'd use Dre beats, we'd most likely be getting different flows and music from him

I think Em, hopping on these news beats, is trying too hard to kill every song he's featured on that he's not taking into account his voice and flow (but his flow on Hello Good Morning is :y: )

Just a matter of opinion really. I thought the majority of the beats were very good. Only one I wasn't fond of was the 'WTP' beat, and I didnt think the 'Not Afraid' beat was exactly a masterpiece either. Also the 'On Fire' beat was just OK in my opinion. But aside from those 3 I liked every other one.

Damn, On Fire was one of the better beats, IMO :coffee:

I don't dislike it, I just think there's better beats on the album. I like the vocal sample but I didnt think the (acousitc guitar?) melody fitted in

It's a violin/cello at the beginning but I'm not talking about that part, I'm talking about the part that sounds like it might be an acoustic guitar which kicks in at like, 0:18

Yeah, you could be right, that's why his flow on So Bad is so smooth. I love that track mostly because of that.

This is yet another of those complaints that got turned around, back in the day, the first ever review I read for the SSLP in that magazine Blaze was how the lyricism was near-perfect but how horrible the production was, bout how the Bass brothers beats all sounded flat, and then they gave a list of producers that could have made the album better and gave it a 3 or 3.5 outta 5 rating....... And that was pretty much consistent throughout his career, especially when he started doin his own beats, non stop bitching bout it

Now he's working with other producers and people want him to go back to making his own beats and working with the Bass brothers..........

lol

The production on SSLP is good, decent enough, but it all SOUNDS like shit quality-wise

One of my least favorite songs on the album, ironically

I think after 10 years of non-stop collaboration the world has already gotten the best there gonna get from Em & Dre together, time for both to work with others.....

With Em, only thing I hope for the next record is that he picks no more then 3 or 4 producers to make the album with, I like Recovery, alot better then the last 2, but it still sounds more like a collection of songs then an actual album, working with a small group of producers gives an album a vibe.

I want his next CD to have a dark vibe with no more sentimental stuff - we've already had that now.

Yep, definately. Throw in some Khalil too. I still want to hear a Kanye produced Em track (NOT Em on a Kanye song, that wouldn't work). If Eminem got the right beat from Kanye it'd be fire. He'd go very well with beats like Jesus Walks or a lot of MBDTF (tweeked to give them an "Em" feel).
