They were not thinking of the future and how they could release it later, it's in the now.

This CD after a 3 year hiatus seems like it would have created a lot more buzz for Eminem than Relapse after a 4 year Hiatus. This CD fits the title of Encore much better than the Original.

I agree with your final summation. It wasn't a possibility and yes, hindsight is 20/20 but at the same time you cannot deny this approach would have yielded the better results.

True, it would have a lot more of a reception and I do like the idea of Encore as the title that way. Makes more sense rather than just fitting it in there with the concept of his life is a show, where as it actually is his Encore. If we took this a little more literal, Eminem would've had to be performing and doing videos and on the run all the time and his addiction would've gotten worse and he would've probably died so

Medicine Ball, Hello, Insane and Must Be The Ganja fillers? Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeells no!

And I know people wanna discuss things and bitch about Eminem all the fucking time, but imagining Encore being pushed back 2-3 years for a slightly (!) better track list? :shakehead:

@ menzo

i know what u mean bro,but ive grown a certain hate for every encore related thread.

and yes Relapse >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Encore

in every way possible and relapse > Recovery too

Em was a sick lyricist in relapse, the album had no bad beats, amazing and clear and crisp production,AMAZING I REPEAT FUCKING AMAZING flows, alot of technical aspects (multies and story telling shine on relapse)

Encore is just shit,i never listen to that album, its a 3.7 arguably a 4/10 for me.

Recovery is an amazing album, very solid album, what denotes it from being a classic is the beats sometimes, and it kind off lacks a certain spark, but its a great album.

why does the "i cant relate to it" thing always play for u little kids, for what it is,relapse is a classic, while encore is shit,i dont need to explain why,but i will song by song.

evil deeds: a good song
never enough: Em was being "gangsta" i hate that
Yellow brick road: a good song
like toy soldiers: never liked this song,i get the message but on a technical level, its average
Mosh: Em doesnt know what the fuck he is talkin abt here, accompanied by a drugged out slow bad flow, and mediocre rhymes
Puke: care i explain how bad this shit is
My 1st single: Em for this u deserve a :facepalm
Rain man: a good song
Big weenie: another :facepalm
Just lose it: i hate MJ,i like this song :tounge2:
Ass Like That: this deserves :facepalm :facepalm :facepalm2 :facepalm2 :facepalm2 :facepalm2
Spend some time: a good song, obie and Em start off well then 50 and stat take it down hill
Mockingbird: a really girly song, never was a fan.
Crazy in love: Em showed some great wordplay here, great song
one shot 2 shot: every D12 song is amazing
Encore: club song,pretty average IMO!

So, an album is good only if average listener can relate to it? Relapse is pure dope awesome lyricism and fuck the average listener cuz he need to rewind and play him twenty times couse he says so many rhymes...

Nah, there's no reason to push it back. If he just kept giving a fuck, and didn't care about the leak, we would have a much better album. Imagine something like this:

1. Curtains Up
2. Come On In
3. Evil Deeds
4. Never Enough
5. Yellow Brick Road
6. Spend Some Time
7. We As Americans
9. Monkey See, Monkey Doo
10. Doe Rae Me
11. Bully
12. Can I Bitch
13. Love You More
14. One Shot 2 Shot
15. Like Toy Soldiers
16. Mockingbird
17. Encore

You can switch up the placement of the tracks, and throw in some skits. But yeah, this would be a pretty damn good album IMO. Alot better than the Encore we know atleast. And I don't think it would've been considered a bad Em album at all.

Relapse?

Relapse is a classic not average... that's just me though others might disagree

Relapse is so far way from a classic that it's not even funny.

Encore certainly has too many average to poor tracks, but lets take a look at Relapse as well (And Don't get me wrong guys, I love the album and think its plenty better than Encore)

But no Classic CD can have ALL of these songs on it:

Garbagy:
We Made You
Crack a Bottle

Medicore:
Hello
Old Time's Sake
Medicine Ball
Bagpipes from Bagdad
Must Be the Ganja

Debatable but certainly not classics:
Insane
My Mom

That's 9 average or below tracks on one album, yet the album is a classic? Don't throw the word classic around so loosely.
