King Mathers is the tentative title for an upcoming album from American rapper Eminem and his fifth major label studio release.

50 Cent indicated that Eminem is preparing a new solo album. Labelmate Ca$his also attested to the new album, referring to it as King Mathers. He said that it would be released in 2007, and that Jay-Z would be featured on the album.

Eminem was in the studio with T.I. and produced three tracks, two of which were produced for T.I.'s album T.I. vs. T.I.P. (only one made the final cut) and one for Eminem. He’s back! After being away for three years Eminem is planning to make a comeback with King Mathers, his fifth solo effort in eight years. The album is currently slated for an October release, with it’s first single “Still Shady” hitting the air waves as early as mid-August. Two clips are scheduled to be shot in Los Angeles starting July 23rd, the first being “Still Shady” a track featuring a menacing guitar riff while Eminem attempts to reclaim the title he once was so modest of. The second clip to be shot, “Follow Me” features 50 Cent and has the duo flowing to a beat reminiscent of 50 Cent’s smash single “Out of Control” a track that will undoubtedly garner plenty of rump shaking in the club these up coming months. Long time friend and collaborator Jeff Bass claims, “Expect an album like you have never heard from Marshall. He’s been through a lot since Encore and has a lot to say. This album is very different from his previous work.” Bass also promised that fans won’t be disappointed by Slim Shady inspired tracks like “Still Shady” and “Never Gave A fuck.” King Mathers also features a long overdue tribute to Mather’s fallen friend Deshaun Holton (Things Ain’t The Same), famous for his role in the film 8 Mile and a member of Mather’s Detroit rap collective D-12. You can expect King Mathers to hit stores October 16th. A special edition “King Mathers” will be released simultaneously featuring four tracks from the recently scrapped upcoming D-12 project that includes a surprising appearance by Three 6 Mafia as well as Stat Quo. “King Mathers” boasts possibly ten tracks produced by Dr. Dre as well as production from Hi-Tek, Dawaun Parker, Akon, & Eminem himself. The highly anticipated comeback album also features guest appearances by label mates Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, Ca$his & Obie Trice as well as Jay-Z, T.I. & Mary J. Blige.

The bold part seems fake to me.

i know the ti shit is true(touchdown s the one that made his album). pretty sure TI confirmed that in an mtv interview. honestly, its so specific with dates for filming and stuff...you never know.

Cashis and Em made a deal where they would name each other's albums, and Cashis came up with King Mathers for Em's album title name.

Yeah i remember that, Cashis named Ems album "Kings Mathers" and Em named Cashis record Loose Cannon.

can you link us? some parts are sketchy. they could of been true, but idk. i really wish we got to hear KM. I still don't fully understand why he never put it out. Was it the being a perfectionist thing, was it the drugs- rehab, relapsing, etc., other personal issues, or something different? I understand if Interscope puts it out and he's in rehab while it's out, is kinda strange, but at least we would of had a chance to hear it. As far as the shady songs, he usually doesn't do the same concepts over and over again. We got to hear JDGAF & SDGAF on the SSLP but for the most part I believe his approach is always different :y:. I don't care if the article is true if the whole thing leaked, with these supposed tracks being on it.

If that was the case Encore would never have been released. I think it has to do with the drugs, we know the album was done as 50, Obie both said it was complete back when there was talk of it. I think it was a mix of Drugs, Personal life or someone stepped in and said this is simply not good enough.

If that part was true, how come no one stepped in during Encore and said- Big Weenie, Ass Like That, Fack, Rainman.......these songs fucking SUCK! I don't know if it was that. I read interviews fairly recently where they asked Em if anybody else knew what exactly was going on with him during his drug period, and he said everybody close to him, Dre, 50, etc. knew something was wrong but didn't know exactly. I think it might of just been him not putting it out and saying this isn't good enough. But it's weird cause KM could of been a lot better then Encore. Beautiful itself is infinite times better then anything on Encore (pun not intended). Proof dies in April of 06, are their any other personal life tragedies we know about or can think of, that were around that time that might add to the stress he was going through at the time? Him and Kim getting divorced again/problems with Kim could be another thing.

I think it was mainly because there was so much hype and anticipation for Encore, lets not forget Em was still on top of the world at that time, anything he did was regarded great and Interscope knew that if Em made an album of him recording his daily shits his album will easily do platnium.(Was quad platnium within a month). I honestly believe he had to many yes men at the time. But by the time KM was coming up either everyone could see how fucked up he was and that stopped it because a lot of people were questioning his ability after Encore-Re-Up period. They probably also thought he was incapable of even going around promoting the album. But yeah it could have simply been postponed due to the drugs/personal life and when he came back from rehab he didn't want to release it and wanted a fresh start.

Yeah that's a really good thought, I agree. Around that time DJ Green Lantern was his DJ, and I read something that he got fired by Em because of an argument/situation with him and 50 Cent? Anybody know the deal behind that? I remember GL was the first person I saw to premiere Mosh on his show.
