Finally Billboard.com Confirms it!
http://www.billboard.com/#/news/eminem- ... 7895.story

Eminem's comeback reached another landmark today, as his "Recovery" LP was officially confirmed as the United States' best-selling album of 2010, with 3.42 million copies sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The MC had previously nabbed the top-selling album of the year in 2002, when "The Eminem Show" moved 7.61 million.

It's the first time since SoundScan began tracking music sales in 1991 that an act has copped the top-selling album in more than one year.

"Recovery" is the biggest-selling album of a year since 2007, when Josh Groban's "Noel" sold 3.70 million. In 2009, Taylor Swift's "Fearless" was tops with 3.22 million, and in 2008, Lil Wayne's "Tha Carter III" reigned with 2.87 million.

"Recovery" made big news when it arrived on the Billboard 200 chart at No. 1 back on July 10, 2010. It was Em's sixth chart-topper (and sixth No. 1 in a row) and launched with 741,000 copies in its first week. At that point, it was biggest single-sales week of the year for an album, although that feat that would later be broken by the arrival of Taylor Swift's "Speak Now," which shifted 1.05 million when it exploded at No. 1 on the Nov. 13, 2010, chart.

Nice read :y:

We also have update sales for Not Afraid & Love The Way You Lie:

"A pair of acts double up in the top 10 digital songs tally, as both Eminem and Taio Cruz place titles in the region. Em owns the No. 3 slot with "Lie" in addition to the No. 7 placing with "Not Afraid" (3.41 million)."

"Eminem's "Love the Way You Lie" (featuring Rihanna, 4.25 million)"

Plus:

"The top-selling digital album of '10 was also Eminem's "Recovery," with 852,000 downloads."

"Eminem shifted 4.32 million albums last year."

So the album will be at around 3.600.000 by the time of the grammies. Any doubt that it will win album of the year now?

He should definitely win Album of the Year this year IMO. The only one with some chance at all is The Suburbs IMO but thats a small chance.

Getting back to #2 in January 2011, when the album was released in June may slightly help him for the "album of the year" award at this years Grammys?

Especially as it's the highest selling album of the year also.

(I read somewhere that the majority of the best selling albums get the award, although it's not set in stone)

okay some more crazy figures for you.

Eminem, Taylor Swift Rule Digital Charts for 2010

Eminem might not be the most tech-savvy dude in the business, but he reigned over the U.S. digital charts in 2010. Not only was he the top-selling artist for overall streams -- his songs last year generated 94 million streams, according to Nielsen SoundScan's year-end totals -- but his "Love the Way You Lie" (featuring Rihanna) was the year's top-streaming song and his "Recovery" LP topped the list of digital album downloads.

His overall stream total last year topped Taylor Swift's total of 77 million by about 17 million units.

1. Eminem (94 million streams)
2. Taylor Swift (77 million streams)
3. Lady Gaga (58 million streams)
4. Rihanna (57 million)
5. Ke$ha (53 million)
6. Nickelback (52 million)
7. Lady Antebellum (52 million)
8. Black Eyed Peas (49 million)
9. Beyonce (46 million)
10. Mariah Carey (45 million)

Eminem's "Love the Way You Lie" was streamed 22.4 million times last year, making it one of three songs to generate more than 20 million streams in 2010.

Meanwhile, the 852,000 downloads of Em's "Recovery" album far outpaced the digital albums sales of the No. 2 best-seller, Swift's "Speak Now," which scanned 488,000 units.

But it wasn't all Eminem: Swift was the year's top-selling track artist with 34.2 million downloads, followed by the Black Eyed Peas (33.8 million), Rihanna (33.6 million) and Eminem (33.3 million).

Yep. All Eyez On Me was certified 5x Platinum after 2 months, doesn't mean it sold 5 million but 5 million copies were shipped. It's not Diamond though, on the RIAA website they have it at 9x Platinum. Great album.

It was a double album so double sell... But still.

Another news for the USA :

"Recovery is also the No. 1 digital album, with 852,000 copies, and Eminem trumps competitors in digital tracks, selling a combined 14 million."

Funny we never talk about Eminem's singles sales but the guy shit on everyone on this category too...

Eminem sold 39.6 million solo album in USA.

eminem won all 4 awards he was nominated for at people's choice awards.........but he didn't attend so they didn't air his categories.......

would it have boosted sales if he had attended and took his awards...............

he won most awards........(although twilight won 4 too as a whole - kristen 1 , movie 2 , cast 1)
