When i first got a copy..i can still remember putting it in nervous as shit as a freshman in college.

The intro track chanting "Eminem! Eminem! Eminem!" had me sooo hyped and excited. I went through the album and enjoyed it, but that was a time when i was ignorant to the rest of hip-hop and didnt know many other artists. It was good at the time, but looking at it now with a much more unbiased opinion, its probably his worst album without a doubt. Its his one album i rarely ever play anything from.

If you go through it from front to back, it isnt too bad until you get to his typical fuck around song "Just Lose It" and then the album takes a nasty turn for the worse. Im not trying to give the beginning that much credit, its just the middle was that bad. I enjoyed Crazy In Love and still do till this day. I really dont listen to the album that much anymore and rarely even dip into the bonus disk.

Its an album that made me listen to his older stuff to remind me he was still one of the best. It gave me some doubt...

I Remember I Was 12 And In Love With A Girl Who Liked Just Lose It So I Used A Holiday Gift Card On Encore And Started Bumpin' It Never Got The Girl But My Love For Hip Hop Has Stayed Since I Actually Really Like Encore! I Think The Only Unplayable Track For Some Could Be Big Weenie But For The Most Part It's Laced With Humour Even The Ending Where He Shoots Everybody In The Audience Including Himself This Was A Much Darker Version Of The Eminem Show An Eminem Who Afterwards Went On Hiatus But I Definitely Prefer This Album Over Re-Up Or Relapse ..

So to y'all who were old enough, how did you feel?

Where you mad? Sad? How'd you feel that he went from the SSLP, MMLP, and TES, to this?

Pretty much exactly this. I loved it when it came out but I still knew it didn't match up to his other albums. I was only 12 to so I really didn't judge it lyrically.

Once my brain/mind started developing and I took off the rose-colored Stan glasses, I saw it for what it was. I'm still proud of myself for thinking "oh god ANOTHER stupid single?" and cringing whenever Just Lose It came on radio. That song and Ass Like That made me embarrassed to be an Eminem fan.

Wtf happened to the "breast nipple flesh tickle my testicles" part? :confusion:
I'm guessing you deleted it because you thought it wasn't related to the topic.
Anyway, I was going to say that, that was one of my favorite lines on "Relapse."
"This dude doing this interview wants me to spin a few,
Lyrics while I tie my tennis shoes in the nude
A romantic interlude in a livin’ room,
In an inner tube with a dude with a bit of lube
Fuck that I’m sniffin’ glue, sippin' gin & juice,
And a little bit of paint thinner with my dinner too,
You better pay me for my bars like your rent is due,
Now hurry up and finish dude before I finish you."

I started rambling, LOL.

I went on a huge tangent so I got rid of it.

LOL, it's cool, we all do that sometimes :D

Cause the shit I hear is crazy
But your either getting lazy or you don't believe in you no more
Seems like your own opinions, not one you can form
Cant make a decision you keep questioning yourself
Second guessing and its almost like your begging for my help

Jerking is fucking gay. Everyone who wears skinny extra tight jeans with big shoes is gay.
Please.

I heard encore when i was exactly.. 12. Now i'm 16 almost 17. I liked some songs.. At first i liked just lose it, but then i became tired of listening to it. but I still like Mosh, mockingbird, Spend some time, crazy in love and yellow brick road, we as americans. BUT I ALWAYS HATED MY 1ST FUCKING SINGLE.

Encore was the first album i heard from Em. Well, i didn't listen to it like FULLY the same day. It was like day by day I was discovering a new track. The first album i listened to fully is Relapse.
Then, I downloaded Infinite, heard it and thought : hmm ok it's ok, but not as good as relapse.
But when i downloaded TSSLP i was like OMG he's just freakin' AWEEEEESOME (Barney stinson's high pitched voice here) !! Then TMMLP.. Liked it even more. Then the Eminem show.. I was like ow shit, what the fuck is this guy doing, i can't even decide which one i prefer?! :y:

I listened to it first when I was like 12. The first single I heard was like toy soldiers and I enjoyed that kind of song at the time. Also, I was just getting it to rap back then. So with that said, I actually found the album hilarious cuz it was stupid humor. (it still is stupid humor and still makes it funny) the downside however is that I got encore for Christmas and the person who got it for me snagged me the clean version from walmart. So some things were changed and made it kiddy humor. Like instead of "you're a fucking slut I hope you fucking die" he said "you freaking piece of poo, I hope you freaking die". When I heard the explicit version it made it funnier that he actually went back to record the lines. All in all, I liked it as my first eminem cd. However, Marshall Mathers LP shot that down. :smoking:
