xxTrigger1989xx wrote:Well, Relapse and Recovery are named perfectly, and interestingly so because I think they're named after two things that happened to him. Relapse is a story, chronicling his drug addict and all the things it made him think. Recovery is named so because after Relapse he moves on from the drugs and...he basically becomes fully "recovered", despite what you feel about the album. Relapse feels like an Eminem album because he raps as if he's still on the drugs, and Recovery feels like a step forward, a new direction, and we see Em "fully recovered"

Recovery feels exactly how it sounds...a Recovery. Both albums are GREAT pieces of work, and both are necessary in his catalog

Completely agree with this. The two albums are very different. I prefer Recovery, because I think it's easier to relate to and more emotional. That's my opinion though, and I still love Relapse. I just prefer Recovery.

Went back & gave Relapse a spin today for the first time in a long while.... Its still hit & miss to me.
BUT the good tracks on it are better than Recoverys better tracks.

Recoverys a good album, minimal filler and a good range of sounds/styles, and the songs where Ems jus bein Em are exeptional i.e. Cold Wind Blows, On Fire, Untitled. But is it a "proper" Eminem album?
No skits? No Dre Beats? ........... I dunno maybe it just me but suttins just not right about the album.

Relapse on the other hand..... It leaked back in 09.... i gave it a spin and first thing to enter my head was....Slim shadys back..... Isnt that who we all started listening to in the first place?

Relapse is by far better than recovery, and recovery is just edging from a 7-8/10

Em went crazy,he was being technical on relapse, his lyrics where amazing detailed and on point, his flow was BOMBASTIC,AMAZING,his multies were well executed and very dope,i like the content of relapse alot, its harder to rap in character or tell a story that aint yours, and well Em really made me feel like he is a serial killer with a pen instead of a knife.

Recovery is a GREAT album too, best album this year,it was a little more commercial, but the lyrics were great,Em actualy IS NOT SCREAMING NOR YELLING,his voice is more raspier and high pitched now,he had his flows raging from good to amazing, examples of amazing are so bad GTC On Fire Almost Famous No Love, and the others are good, his lyrics on LTWYL are amazing (YES ITS A SINGLE AND IT HAS A RIHANNA HOOK,BUT THE RAPPING IS AMAZING),and i can go on.

1 is a very solid/great album, the other being a classic for what it is. :worship:

relapse feel like his more natural album

recovery does feel like its forced...I'm an artist myself and I can definitely see he was tryin to please the critics and public after they slammed relapse.. but in all honesty those critics had no idea what they were talkin about and misdirected eminem to make more "pop" public pleasing tracks..

em needs to go back on relapse days.. whether with or without the accent, his music in relapse has far more replay value than recovery..

it feels like he just threw bunch of random songs on the album, diverse production..it's not natural, relapse had accents but it was more defined..complete product.

Recovery sounds forced and rushed and just wasn't musically coherent to me... Also, I much preferred Relapse's production.

At the end of the day both Relapse and Recovery weren't anywhere near what Em is truly capabale of.

Relapse> Recovery

Y'all fucked up complaining about relapse.
Recovery is good, kinda, but it's way to pop.
Relapse had the most amazing flows and multi's i've ever heard.

You guys are just in denial. This coming from a huge eminem fan. Just cause it's pop doesn't make it bad. I still like the album, but it's definitely a little pop. Would you have ever thought eminem would have made love the way you lie, space bound, cinderella man, 25 to life, and similiar songs 10 years ago? Let's be honest here, and quit the denial.

Cinderella Man is one of the best songs since his comback so I'm glad he made that song. 25 To Life falls in that category as well. LTWYL is a fantastically written song, has a great concept and is a good song despite its popularity, get off the bandwagon. Space Bound is a new direction for Eminem, he's trying out new things and in this case it worked for him.

Nothing but honesty here...jump off the bandwagon please.

I could have seen 25 To Life coming from Em. Space Bound is a completely new direction for him. Cinderella Man pop?

Recovery ISN'T pop. No one is saying pop is bad, but it's by no means pop. Not even LTWYL is a pop song, just because it has Rihanna on it doesn't mean shit. Em put Rihanna on the song for a reason, to create an artistic paradox for obvious reasons

If it WAS pop, I'd accept it, but I don't hear pop. I hear a more COMMERICAL album, which is NOT pop. Pop is a completely different genre from what Recovery is. COMMERICAL is the word you're looking for
