I think Killer destroys the run.

My 3 album Tech N9ne run would be Anghellic, Absolute Power & Everready.

P.S. Celcius doesn't really count so I don't include it in between Anghellic and AP.

meh i don't like the first half of Anghellic at all tbh
and i wouldn't hesitate to put Killer in my top 10 albums of all time so its all about opinion

You don't like Psycho Bitch, Suicide Letters or Sinister Tech? :o

Just looking at it, there's a few artists who have had done it, and they have been mentioned (Tupac, Outkast, Kanye, KRS) and can definitely challenge Eminem's run, but there's only one run in Hip Hop that is the definition of a successful run, and this can't be topped ever in my opinion.

Ice Cube
1988 - Straight Outta Compton (with NWA)
1990 - AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted
1991 - Kill at Will EP
1991 - Death Certificate
1992 - The Predator
1993 - Lethal Injection*

With PERHAPS the exception of Lethal Injection (which is disputed, and only because of a huge change in style), the rest are all indisputable classics in Hip Hop.

You're never going to top that, with a minimum of 5 (maximum of 6) classic albums in a 6 year period.

Count them if you want, however how many of them are classics?

Devils night is not a classic, there's only one great MC in it.

Bad Meets Evil EP is a good shout, but how many songs did it have? Kill at Will wasn't just an EP, it was album material songs that went platinum.

Devil's Night is a near classic. So is The Predator so why not?

I love Devils Night, I think some of Eminem's verses (such as Fight Music, Revelation, Girls) are some of the best in his career, but overall I don't think it's considered a classic in Hip Hop circles.

Maybe I should have included Eazy E's "Eazy Duz It" considering Ice Cube wrote the lyrics for it. :tounge2:

No but seriously, take out the NWA album if you want, and if you wanna talk about solo albums only, Ice Cube's run is still the best in Hip Hop history.

He fell of horribly, but having great mic presenc/delivery can easily make up for 'great" lyrics. As far as the beats that still part of the album, so you can't take it away from him, now if you meant who's the better emcee...

Have you heard of the Entroducing?

I already know he's a crap lyricist but his delivery is top notch at least.

I agree. THink about the fact that you have to make an album work with 6 artists for one, seems tough to me :sweating:

Secondly, the concepts and execution on that album are pretty damn good. "that's how" was a great song, great concept, the way they each did such small verses was dope. Other good concepts: ain't nuttin but music" "revelation" "devils's night", "shit can happen" and one other i can't think of the name of right now lol.

thirdly, it has em on it, they do well with one of the best emcees and someone who was untouchable at that time. shows they could work with him, with all that he brings, and they meshed perfectly.

there were a fill filler songs, but overall that shit was a classic in terms of em fans, it'll never be considered one by critics or hip-hop debators, but it def is one in my eyes for those reasons stated :y:

No, you can't really praise him for the beats, as he contributes very little to them. He doesn't write them... every beat he raps over is sampled.

You can't praise him for lyrics. He is a boring, crap lyricist.

The only thing you can really say about Ice Cube is he has a good voice for rap.

Wow yeah right.

Lyrics is not all about tangling words together and having punchlines and wordplay in every verse. Lyrics is also about delivery, and the message it has, and Ice Cube was a reverend for the ghetto at that time, his message was more powerful than any witnessed in terms of what it did for his people. Chuck D of all people labeled him as a prophet ffs.

Calling Ice Cube a crap lyricist is very silly, Ice Cube was the voice behind NWA, all those historic tracks were all his, including Eazy's.

You can call him boring, but not many would agree with you, including Eminem who's music was obviously heavily influenced by Ice Cube's, just listen to The Predator and it's so obvious where quite a bit of Eminem's early concepts and delivery in his songs came from.

Say what you like, however if you wanna talk about sales, impact, influence, critics reviews, then Ice Cube had the most successful run if you wanna look back at Hip Hop history. For the record, just like Eminem did in his run, Ice Cube had a movie too, a much better one at that in BoyzNtheHood.

btw. I find it very ironic that you say half his shit wouldn't play if it wasn't for his great beats (and then you cite It was a good day to prove your point).....umm...you do know that in hip hop circles it was Ice Cube's beats that were criticized as not being up to the quality of others areas of his game...that was THE main problem with his albums, in that there was hardly any diversity and quality to level with his vocals. The irony goes further as "It was a good day" is seen by a lot as THE song that changed Ice Cube's style all together and these type of beats are the reason why "Lethal Injection" is disputed as whether or not it was a classic album.

ps. i just re-read this and this seems a little aggressive, but i don't intend for it to be. no disrespect homie, just debating.

Delivery and lyrics should be separate, though I do agree about message, which is why I hate when people call Pac a crap lyricist.

And lol at the movie part.

You don't agree that BoyzNtheHood was a classic movie?

Btw. I just re-read my post and I can't believe I'm coming off as an Ice Cube stan. Lol. I'm a WAY bigger Eminem fan than I am an Ice Cube fan, but I can recognize truth when I see it, Cube's run and dominance was bigger than Eminem's in terms of quality, not popularity.

you haven't SEEN BOYZNTHEHOOD?? :o

Come on man, that's a HUGE FAIL.

Like really, we listen to very similar music and have very similar points of view, so I can't believe you haven't seen it. It's a cultural classic and a must see.

Trust me when I tell you that Belly is half the movie Boyz is. I mean with all due respect and love for X and Nas, it had proper actors including Cuba Gooding, Angela Bassett and Laurence Fishbourne and was directed by an award winning movie director like John Singleton rather than a music video director like Hype.
