I know i've said it many times but, you can be a great lyricists and technically be a great rapper but nobody gives a fuck if you have no personality and your songs are boring as fuck and the majority of it is shitty music-wise. Now I listen to both, I just like good music regardless, Brother Ali is one of my fav artists out right now, Pharoahe Monche is great, Slaughterhouse is great (still underground as of now) but artists like MF Doom or Jedi Mind Tricks bore me. A lot of people do like it though, it's all opinion but I'll bet a good 3/4 of the underground would jump at the chance to go mainstream in a heartbeat whether they say it or not.
