I just think lyrics are 10x more important than anything else when it comes to rap and discrediting a rapper because of delivery is retarded because there are only very small differences in everyones delivery.

If you were a poet or a writer yes, but no this is music and it has to sound good before you try to act smart. (not dissing him just saying)

I'm a lyrics guy, myself, but because there aren't 10 multis in a single line doesn't mean that it's not good lol. I know that you didn't say that, but I think we all know your views on multis and how important they are to you, so I'm just saying...it's not ALL about lyrics. It's good to have great lyrics AND music, but if your music sounds like shit, no one's gonna wanna hear it

Word on Satan, as I drop, fall to my knees before this Quija board and I pray
Now I lay me down to sleep
I do this shit in my sleep, I’m sleepin' now, imagine if I awake

I would rather like the guy with lyrics who are 10x better than the other guy than the guy who's delivery is 1.1x better than the other guy.

Trigger1989, you have no clue what you're talking about, shut the fuck up. No music I listen to ever sounds like shit or I wouldn't listen to it.

Man, I'm tired of people thinking multies are the be-end-and-all of lyricism - there is SO much more to lyricism that just rhyming more than one syllable. (not aimed at anyone in particular, just generally)

If you can rhyme more than one syllable - fantastic. But multies for me are judged on one aspect: do they effect any other aspects of the lyricism?

Would you have used that word choice if you weren't going to use a multie?

Without that multies how much more interesting would the verse be?

Is the storytelling, the vocab, the allliteration, the delivery, the metaphors the imagery or any other parts of lyricism effected in a noticeable way because of the multie?

And the problem I find with SOME (not making a ridiculous general statement here) underground emcees is that the rhyming is focused on SO much that other aspects of the lyricism are effected. I enjoy Diabolic's music but at times I lose interest in his verses and that's because he focuses so intently on multies that his lyricism slips in other areas

Eminem does focus on multies intensely as well but the difference is prime-Eminem barely ever let it effect other aspects of his lyricism - you'd struggle to find a seriously forced rhyme by Em between 1997-1999. That's why, in his prime, he was the king.

Ever heard of Emancipator? I listen to him all the time and he has never had one word on one of his tracks. And yes it is, even though honestly I think my artists delivery is better than anything you've posted. Copywrites and DZK's delivery > *. Delivery is completely subjective, lyricism is not as much.

Honestly the disparity in their delivery is about as much Prodigy in the 90s against Ras Kass delivery.
