recovery hate

Postby whiteamerica » Jan 8th, '11, 21:40

all of these people saying they dont understand the recovery hate as of recent, here's what i think.

Recovery was loved at first because:
-it was new
-it was a new direction for eminem
-subject matter was positive and more "real" seeming than relapse
-eminem converted his annoying accent to a (just as annoying imo) yell. [although not in all of it]

Recovery is not loved anymore because:
-the production is generic and boring
-it appeals way too much to the mainstream rap of today (which doesn't fit eminim)
-he tries too desperately (although sometimes succeeds) at clever punchlines/metaphors [lil wayne-esque] <--------BAD
-Eminem stooped to wayne's level here, and also featured him on the album<---- :shakehead:
-Only a select few songs are memorable (timeless) unlike most of his old wacky shit that is still most of our favorites
-rihanna is there :facepalm

Note/disclaimer: i do not hate recovery and i consider it better than encore and relapse. lyrical content is there in most songs, but it was missing originality (production wise).
*****THIS IS MY OPINION AND IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE YOURS*****

Please critique.

Who gives a shit. People should learn to stop caring about what others say.

Recovery is a phenomenal album, and that's all I care. :smoking:

Who said Recovery is hated? The majority of people (in other words not the people on these forums) love it, and I'm pretty sure the last time I checked the majority of people on here like/love it anyway.

The hate on Recovery is getting old
Image

Came back to annihilate, the game's in dire straights, as I await
Word on Satan, as I drop, fall to my knees before this Quija board and I pray
Now I lay me down to sleep
I do this shit in my sleep, I’m sleepin' now, imagine if I awake

slimsoxshady wrote:The thing some noobs are slightly confused about is that most of us who really like Recovery and its everything we wanted since Eminem came back stopped praising it a while ago...just because we praised it enough....but haters never quit. Therefore you're gonna keep seeing people who actually hate Recovery continue to hate...while those who love it (which is a majority) never talk about it anymore. It's human nature.

100% agree with your opinion. Relapse feels more like an Eminem album than Recovery does. Eminem tried too hard to impress the mainstream with Recovery, and he clearly succeeded so good for him. i want a more shock and awe type of Eminem, and not this bland not afraid to take a stand type guy.

I don't see why people dislike Recovery. It's a classic album. Hell, even my mom likes it.
