This is the time (several months after an album is released) that people start to hate on it. In 5 years everyone will be considering Recovery a classic while Relapse will be considered an OK album. And that's because Recovery is more Eminem's style and Relapse isn't really.

Plus I think there is a misunderstanding of Recovery. IMO Recovery was meant to reintroduce us to Eminem. As he said in Going Through Changes "The new me is back to the old me", and he went on and on to tell us he's back and will never go back to what he was on Relapse or Encore. So what do I expect because of this? I think his next album is gonna be DOPE AS FUCK!

Every rapper has done a song with an R&B singer.

whiteamerica wrote:all of these people saying they dont understand the recovery hate as of recent, here's what i think.

Recovery was loved at first because:
-it was new
-it was a new direction for eminem
-subject matter was positive and more "real" seeming than relapse
-eminem converted his annoying accent to a (just as annoying imo) yell. [although not in all of it]

Recovery is not loved anymore because:
-the production is generic and boring
-it appeals way too much to the mainstream rap of today (which doesn't fit eminim)
-he tries too desperately (although sometimes succeeds) at clever punchlines/metaphors [lil wayne-esque] <--------BAD
-Eminem stooped to wayne's level here, and also featured him on the album<---- :shakehead:
-Only a select few songs are memorable (timeless) unlike most of his old wacky shit that is still most of our favorites
-rihanna is there :facepalm

Note/disclaimer: i do not hate recovery and i consider it better than encore and relapse. lyrical content is there in most songs, but it was missing originality (production wise).
*****THIS IS MY OPINION AND IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE YOURS*****

Please critique.

it was a new direction for eminem that why i hate it.

I dont like change and it changed for the worst.
