He needs to get away from punchlines and personal stuff, and get on track to making thought provoking pieces of art with a purpose.

Relapse is nothing like SSLP. Nothing at all.

It's not "vintage Shady" at all - vintage shady is witty, clever - a likeable, hilarious asshole. Relapse had very few moments of geniune wittiness and I wouldn't call any of the 'characters' likeable assholes or hilarious. I really liked Relapse for his rhyming, flows and funny touches, but it was nothing like Shady. My Mom was the only song that really came anywhere near to recapturing that.

Relapse was mainly serial killing (MAINLY, before you all start going crazy), SSLP had so much more to it. Wayyyyy more depth. It touched on social problems, political issues (Rock Bottom is political), his personal life, used irony fantastically (Role Model for example) and had the perfect amount of balance between wittyness/humour and emotion/serious underlying tones.

Relapse had 10 tracks that were random. SSLP had 6/7. And you can argue about how "random" those SSLP tracks were. Can't do the same with Relapse.

I think Relapse was an ode to those days but it was nothing like it. I think the album was a success and a really enjoyable listen but it terms of capturing Shady spirit? Failed on that part.

Yes, it is. How I see it, it is. That's fine if you don't see it this way, but don't completely dismiss what I said. After SSLP, Relapse is the Shadiest album we'll get from Eminem, Relapse IS a Slim Shady album, which I think is undisputable. Whether or not you think he "captured" the Shady spirit is up to you

As fans, we all view Eminem's music in different ways. I probably view Relapse MUCH differently than you do. I also like Relapse, personally, better than SSLP ( :o )

As a whole album, I feel like Relapse works better than SSLP. I like the production better the most, and his flows, lyrics, and multis were crazier than SSLP, IMO. A big thing is that I prefer the accent over the nasily voice lol

That's just me, i didn't say Relapse was better but it's just my personal opinion. It's like how I KNOW MMLP is a better album than Recovery, but I like Recovery, as an album, better

The Westwood freestyles were Slim Shady, Relapse was not Slim Shady.

Anyway, I'd like him to do something completely new, not go back to 'da old shizzle'. He needs to take a short break and really think about what there is he can rap about.

I would like an album with all 3 of his personas. A Marshall/Eminem/Slim Shady album all in one. It should have a variety of emotional, funny, controversial, gangster, and club songs. :y:

I don't think Relapse was Slim Shadyish, what makes Slim for me is... Crazyness, beliveable crazyness, weird storytelling, hilariously sick jokes and simple, creepy beats... So I think Relapse is nothing like that, but thats just my opinion.

^ your hopefully joking?.. i don't know i would like to hear abou t global problems on a Zeitgeist type of thing but a man who failed 9th grade 3 times honestly probably won't have the intellectual knowledge to say anything new that haven't been heard before.. but on the other hand with the amount of catastrophies and scandals continuously growing there should be enough material to make a MMLP Anno 2011.. I Could see him do alot of collabos though kinda showcasing the new talent.. only problem is nobody gives a fuck about the new guys we want a real Eminem.. The Personal, Relatable Content.. But He's Been Quite Clear About Steering Away From That Lately.. But Honestly Concept Wise "Going Through Changes" Was The Deepest Track Off Recovery.. I Think He Needs To Do An Album With Raw Hip Hop And Old Heavy Filled Kanye Beats.. Or Some More "My Darling" Type Of Stuff i Still Haven't Heard The Song Where T.I.P. And Slim SHady Battle T.I. and Marshall Mathers..

Eminem is the G.O.A.T Rapper.
