Recovery will either be looked at as a classic or a near-classic, fantastic album in 5 years, maybe sooner. Just give it time...

I definitely agree.

Relapse would very nearly be a classic to me without "Crack a Bottle" and "Beautiful".

and, I've always liked Recovery but, I never thought it could be a classic to me because of the production, it seems uneveen and random.

But the more time has gone on, the more coherent the whole thing sounds. Every track gels, and although there's not as much of a direct structure or story as usual, it progresses, it works, all the production sounds cohesive and all the tracks sound like they should be there.

And there's not one weak track. And, even though at first it seems 'themeless', just the basic idea of him 'recovering', being on top of the world again, feeling good enough to say X etc... it definitely all starts to gel more overtime.

I reviewed it when it first came out as 4.5 out of 5. Then I went down to a 4 in my mind and was back and forth for a while but, it's totally solid. I think I'd probably say it's 4/5 still, I think near perfect is too generous, it does have flaws but, 3 or 3.5 is too low. 4/5 seems right.

I don't know what you're hearing when you listen to songs like Not Afraid and Love The Way You Lie but I don't hear the Eminem I used to like. All I hear is a man desperatly trying to sound angry and even more desperatly trying to sing.

I know the man can still rap but what happened to his flow, his clever lyrics and the good beats? I keep listening to Bad Meets Evil and Brain Damage in my MP3 player and can't figure out how he could change and for the worse.
