Would you let your kids listen to Eminem? When?

I have two conflicting views:

1) I feel it'd be irresponsible for a young kid to be listening to songs like Kill You. I know certain people on this forum have been listening to Em since that age and say it didn't negatively affect them, but I really don't see how it could have any positive impact. I wouldn't give the kid a censored album because I don't believe in censoring music, if an artist said something, they said it for a reason. Even if my kid was a young teen I'd feel weird knowing he's listening to Em's most vulgar stuff.
2) I'd be pissed if my parents had stopped me from listening to Eminem (I started when I was probably 11). I'd hate to do that to my kid. I'd be depriving them of one of the greatest musicians of all time.

I think I'll just ignore it. Don't ask, don't tell. If my kid starts buying XXL Jordan sweat pants and wears a do-rag and kills his girlfriend, we'll have a talk.

I'll definitely let them listen to it whenever they start making their own decisions, controlling your kids too strictly and being on that good role model shit usually ends up in them being pussified sheep unable to do anything without "mommy & daddys approval" or completely hating your fucking guts(my situation w/ my parents). I'd treat my kids how I wanted to be treated as a kid.

I'm leaning towards your 2). Yes it could have a bad influence on kids, I don't think we should fool ourselves here. But hardly much worse than what you see in the news all the time anyway.

I'd let him/her find out about Eminem theirselves. If they don't like him it's upto them, if they like him then I won't do anything. I wouldn't encourage nor put them off Eminem.
