The album is great. The only difference you're hearing from then and now is that it's to appeal the mainstream fans more. Either that or you grew up and switched ideals or something. Everyone is titled to their own opinion. If you're wanting a discussion like the 50 million other threads that are made about this then I'll give ya one.

Recovery is by far his most commercial endeavor. Production by some Of hip hop's go to producers of the last year, features of popular artists (ie lil wayne and Rihanna), and lyrical content that is toned down (once again an opinion) compared to previous works. That said em still blows the competition out of the park with this album. He was trying to rework his voice in the world again. Recovery I will say (shoot me if you want) was a concept album in not the usual sense but as in a way to find himself. He's matured incredibly and he knows that. So his usual old tactics aren't what he wants to be known for....

That's all I can say for right now.

Recovery is the weak link in his catalogue i agree, too poppy for my taste. Too many guest vocalists choppy production, too many soppy songs that feel forced and it seems that with recovery he is trying to fit a standard rather than set one. He certainly hasn't lost any talent but for me personally i dont listen to half the songs on this album anymore. Encore is definitley superior im my opinion disregard it if you want i just dont give a fuck
