Slim Shady style before SSEP

Postby VenomBlackViper » Jan 12th, '11, 00:58

I was listening to this song earlier and Eminems pretty much rapping in the Slim Shady style, yet this song was recorded in 95 which was before Em even made Infinite.

Anything else think this sounds like an early Slim Shady?

The voice & delivery sound like a mix of Infinite & SSEP era Em
The lyrics & flow sound like SSEP era Em

If I didn't know the year this song was released & I had to guess I would've guessed 97 or 98.

I got a very light erection from this :sweating:

Cause the shit I hear is crazy
But your either getting lazy or you don't believe in you no more
Seems like your own opinions, not one you can form
Cant make a decision you keep questioning yourself
Second guessing and its almost like your begging for my help

I posted this too once, and said the same thing about it. It seems like he switched his style on purpose for "Infinite," maybe because that is what was hot at the time and he could get more exposure that way?
Good thing he went back to the Slim Shady persona. Creative and original :worship:
"This dude doing this interview wants me to spin a few,
Lyrics while I tie my tennis shoes in the nude
A romantic interlude in a livin’ room,
In an inner tube with a dude with a bit of lube
Fuck that I’m sniffin’ glue, sippin' gin & juice,
And a little bit of paint thinner with my dinner too,
You better pay me for my bars like your rent is due,
Now hurry up and finish dude before I finish you."

Well he was told to make a radio friendly album, maybe that's why?

But who would tell him that? It's not like he was famous and he had to take orders from a label or something.

Back then getting radio play was the most important thing for a rap artist because then more people would hear you and you had the chance of getting discovered, so they told him to try making Infinite radio friendly. After that shit bombed Eminem stopped giving a fuck.

Eh, it's more closer to Infinite

Came back to annihilate, the game's in dire straights, as I await
Word on Satan, as I drop, fall to my knees before this Quija board and I pray
Now I lay me down to sleep
I do this shit in my sleep, I’m sleepin' now, imagine if I awake
