Not entirely true.

Maybe now he is but, Em's drama scenes are immediately believable and often subtle in 8 Mile. Where as, Will is still pretty awkward in dramatical strides. Ali was a huge stretch and until The Pursuit of Happiness and I Am Legend, his dramatical attempts were pretty cringe.

It was the 99 VMAs when Em won best new artist, I believe Will Smith either won best rap artist or best male and he was like, I don't swear in any of my music, and I still sell records. Will Smith mentioned Em in one of his songs on his last album back in like 06, but Em has worked with Will's best friend DJ Jazzy Jeff. He worked with him on When To Stand Up and he mentioned him in the promotional videos for the DJ Hero Video Game commercials too.
