Yeah, 25 To Life is an amazing track.

Quite a few songs on Recovery are probably suitable selections to be in the "top 30 Eminem songs of all-time list"; but people don't like to openly admit it because they are trapped in the mindframe of EMINEM WOZ BETTER BACK IN DA DAY INNIT AND ALL DIS NEW SHIT AINT AS GOOD

It would have been much better if he was once tried to stay positive and focus on all the great things. I mean, he has spent most of his life as a rapper so it can't be that bad.

Say Goodbye to Hollywood was a much better effort - not only because of the lyrcism but also because he was still very new and that the topic was way more relevant back then.

He could have stayed out of the limelight and not have let the public hear his new albums if he didn't like the attention.

He wanted to - needed to - blow up though, for his child's sake. He wanted her to have a better life. He's releasing music now BECAUSE HE WANTS TO. He could easily have stopped after Encore and still been able to live off of his legacy, but he said himself he wants to keep making music because he wants to, not because of the fame or attention

After the next major studio album, there needs to be an updated version of Curtain Call, or another 'greatest hits' type compilation.

The fact that FACK, SHAKE THAT, and JUST LOSE IT are on Eminem's greatest hits album is face-palm worthy. Most people turn to these sort of albums to an artist they are not familiar with, and imagine someone who is just getting in to Eminem, they buy Curtain Call, and the first actual track they hear is....FACK

Just think of all the replacements that can be made from Relapse, Recovery and the next album.

Had I posted some rambling about how great 25 to life is, you would have given me an e-blowjob.

I don't know if this was aimed at me. I thought was my critisicm was pretty fair. I was never comparing old Eminem to new Eminem, I was simply just comparing two songs that are lyrically similar. Had Say Goodbye to Hollywood been released yesterday, I would have done the same.

But the attention is pretty hard to avoid if you want to release music. His whole perspective is just getting old and I personally just find it boring. He did everything to make Recovery sell big (choosing more radio friendly beats, working with pop singers etc.), yet he still makes song about how he hates the fame. Come on...

Yes, people are praising Just Lose It all the time. It's just annoying :S

Track overall is meh. Same ass angry delievery as in almost every other Relapse track though it makes sense here. Don't like the beat except the piano beginning. Subject matter was done throughout relapse and before, and better. Lyrics do bring it up a notch, but as a song its meh.

@One Mic: Unless his next release is mind-blowing, I honestly don't see any tracks post-Encore that can cut it with his hits. Take out the "Fack" etc, add Stan's Mixtape (The extended cd) and Sing For The Moment and that'll do it justice but honestly fuck a greatest hits, that's why shit like iTunes have playlists

Uh...do you mean Recovery?...Because on Relapse, the subject wasn't tackled at all. And even then, on Recovery this is the only song he touches the subject in...

^ Those are just three that could potentially be added to a 'greatest hits' type album.

They are all significantly better than; Fack, Shake That, and Just Lose It anyway

LOL you can't say "fuck a greatest hits" they are very important. How do you think today's generation check out the likes of The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra (or whoever it may be). They certainly don't wade relentlessly though every album, they just instantly opt for the 'Greatest Hits' as it indicates that the artists/bands best or most recognisable work should be on it.

There will definitely be a new/updated one soon no question about that, and there should be. Imagine people 20 years from now checking out Curtain Call to see Em's "best" material. = face-palm

Thats why changes and adjustments need to be made.

His voice and style is powerful, this is the Eminem that I'd much rather hear than the shouty punchlines. And the lyrics are great, both verses are :y:

I relate to nearly every word, which is crazy to me

An artists biggest hits don't neccesarilary ( i cant spell that) mean their greatest tracks, just the most popular. For example Lose Yourself is always gonna be on Em's Greatest Hits, as good as a song it is, the actual song 8 Mile is better. I agree with you to a degree about checking out old artists songs but most of the time it's a cynical cash in on old tracks with 2 or 3 new ones. Why not wait till an artist retires/dies? I mean some old artists have more than one, fucking stupid or what? Basically 5 or 6 new songs on a newer greatest hits cd? And anyway, Em hasn't released a shitload of albums since 2005 so it seems kinda pointless although it's the 5 album contract deal Interscope gave him where one is a Greatest Hits collection. It actually would make more sense to wait for another 4 albums then having a GH Volume 2 with newer hits but maybe it's just me but Greatest Hits are the worst kinda cash ins

It would've been perfect if it wasn't for that stupid synth during most of the second verse.

That synth is one of the best parts of the track, Em's words gel with the timing/tone of the melody so perfectly.

One of the first song I heard when Recovery leaked and I just fell in love whith it. I love how he refers to hip hop as a relationship and both his voice and lyrics are great. One of my favorites :y:
