I thought the themes were a mess but the whole concept was there lol.
It was simply a concept song with random babble talking about one thing. Still a decent song though.

Great concept, great execution.

The way he leaves it till the last line to reveal its context / concept, meaning all who heard it the first time would have to (unless they guessed it before the line) go back and re-listen to appreciate it in its proper context.

Like "Space Bound", it's a much better direction lyrically too. Has this adult, stern, classy nature about it.

While the first example you gave is kinda a mess, I think the second one was executed just fine. Not the best lines in the song, but it's not bad, IMO

This is really MM's song, but go through a divorce or get dumped and just relate to it as a woman , rather than "the game" " the industry" and you will see just how true and succinct this song is.
I refuse to even give some of the posters calling this random babble the time of day.

The stuff did ryme and follows a descriptive story line at that.

I sure wouldn't want to be Marshall. I hate identifying with what I do already. This guy has taken the shaft in life.

Even fans here pretty much just criticizing a piece of work that is an obvious statement of his personal feelings as well as experiences.
The whole album is a sincere effort to be responsible and accountable to his fans , his daughters and his friends.
People who don't respect this song or album can bite my a.ss. I say that for Em.
