I never liked Lupe, maybe this album will change my mind
Same sword they knight you they gon' good night you with
Sh.., Thats' only half if they like you
That ain't even the half what they might do
Don't believe me, ask Michael
See Martin, see Malcolm
You see Biggie, see Pac, see success and its outcome
See Jesus, see Judas; see Caesar, see Brutus
See success is like suicide
Suicide, it's a suicide
If you succeed, prepare to be crucified

This. Recovery > MBDTF, and I love MBDTF. A lyrical nut would pick Recovery over MBDTF any fucking day of the week, regardless of production, so I don't understand all the undying love for MBDTF from all the people who care so much about lyrics and multis

^ Don't forget actual substance in the lyrics.

MBDTF is a bunch of aimless songs for the most part.

In fairness, the only place you'd see anybody saying Recovery is better than MBDTF is on an Eminem forum, which is understandable

People pay attention to different things in albums. Apart from a few songs, there isn't really much on MBDTF that compares to Recovery lyrically. I only listen to ye's album when I'm in the gym and that's because I'm too exhausted to pay attention to the lyrics and just want a nice melody.

There will always be Eminem fans who say his album is the best because they don't want anybody to challenge their idol. It works the same way for Ye fans. Go to kanyetothe.com and you'll probably find a few people who deep inside think Recovery is the better album but don't want to admit it.

No, that's not necessarily true. I hear it often outside of this forum. There's a good amount of people who don't like MBDTF. It's about taste and what you value, it's not ridiculous at all to say Recovery is a better album. If you're someone who values lyrics and substance over production, you'll pick Recovery easily. Unless if you just wanna hate on it because Eminem is rapping about new things on it...

Actually, the place where I've seen Recovery criticized the most is on this forum

MBDTF, on the other hand has been called overrated by half of the people in the internet and in real life.
