He probably meant that it's usually an actual sticker, and not part of the album art. This was true years ago but now they have embedded it into the art. I remember getting CDs as a kid that had an actual sticker.

I just can't explain that other picture, can you? I just wouldn't be extremely surprised if Alex thought it was official just like everyone else, I doubt he has any input on the creation of the single art, and it's also not like it was first released by him. He picked it up after it was already out.
