Came back to annihilate, the game's in dire straights, as I await
Word on Satan, as I drop, fall to my knees before this Quija board and I pray
Now I lay me down to sleep
I do this shit in my sleep, I’m sleepin' now, imagine if I awake

How are Kanye or Cudi portraying a gangsta image at all? Have you even listened to their music or seen how they portray themselves in their daily lives? And Wayne, yes he does portray that image to an extent. It goes back to how he grew up (I know he's been rich since 13, but everyone he grew up with was from the hood). Besides, I said rap was moving away from the image, not that it erased it completely.

Also Nollie, I've noticed that like half your posts are just quotes, images, and emoticons. Try making actual contributions and explaining your POV...

FreeSpeech got the point, rap actually has got a lot better recently than few years ago with all the gansta & club rap (I'm talking mainstream only of course). It's not &THE best era of rap but it's not getting worse. Although, if you guys like hardcore rap I can see why you guys don't like the new school rappers since they are seen as soft (lol)

on topic, no, Eminem should never done this song or concept, he's in no place to do that, it would sound like he's bitter no matter what. And it's not like he's going to change the music industry by the song anyway.

Agree !, but I don't think it would have fit for the album so that's why it didn't get in there. But wasn't Syllables created in like 2007 ?

There will always be gangsta rappers, but nearly all of the most popular rappers out are from the suburbs and don't drop gangsta albums. That wouldn't have happened 10 years ago. I don't see how this is a hard concept to grasp...

Drake
Lil Wayne
T.I.
B.o.B.
Kid Cudi
etc.

No fucking way.

The only popular rappers out who don't drop gangsta shit are Cudi, Kanye & B.o.B. Em & Jay are on their own legend shit and that's pretty much it. I like that gangsta shit if it's done right (Snoop, T.I. ,Ice Cube) but a lot of these "gangsta" rappers aren't even from the hood and never lived that bullshit they rap about plus they're horrible as it is. "I go harder then the muhh fuckin paint nikkuh" the fuck is that shit, does he go harder then the muhh fuckin drywall too?

Lupe doesn't.
Drake doesn't.
J Cole doesn't.
Asher Roth doesn't.
Nicki Minaj doesn't.
Wiz Khalifa did on his old stuff, not now.
Yelawolf doesn't.

Waka sucks, but in his defense, it's "I go hard in the muthafuckin paint." It's a basketball term...basically means he'll body you and he hustles/works hard. I hate Waka but that's the one song of his I like, even though it's incoherent.
