What did I not read like a normal American :facepalm You're an idiot. Look at your fucking lists. IT, Vinnie Paz & Nas all make lyrical songs. And I wouldn't call NWA or Ice Cube someone who has a message in every song lol, half there shit is gangsta bullshit. And Eminem, Rakim & Jadakiss don't make message songs? Eminem makes way more message songs than he does lyrical ones.

This whole thread was a fail.

First of all, Eminem doesn't make more message songs then lyrical songs. Almost every one of his songs is super lyrical, and not a lot of them are real message type songs, so gtfo here you stupid asshole. Fail thread? I could give a fuck really, I just wanted to see what members listened to hip hop wise. Jadakiss and Rakim are artists with messages but not like 2pac and Public Enemy were (to the fullest).

Really? Let's look at his albums

My Name Is- Neither
Guilty Conscience- Message/Story Telling
Brain Dammage- Message/ Story Telling
If I Had- Message/Story Telling
97 Bonnie & Clyde- Message/ Story Telling
Role Model- Lyrical
My Fault- Message/Story Telling
Cum On Everybody- Lyrical
Rock Bottom- Message/Story Telling
Just Don't Give A Fuck- Lyrical
As The World Turns- Message/Story Telling
I'm Shady- Lyrical
Bad Meets Evil- Lyrical
Still Don't Give A Fuck- Lyrical

That's 7-6

Kill You- Lyrical
Stan- M/ST
Who Knew- M/ST
Way I Am- M/ST
TRSS- Neither
Remember Me- Lyrical
I'm Back- Lyrical
Marshal Mathers- M/ST
Drug Ballad- Lyrical
Amityville- Lyrical
Bitch Please II- M/ST
Kim- M/ST
Under The Influence- Lyrical
Criminal- M/ST

7-6 again

Every song on The Eminem Show is Message/Story telling except for like two.

Eminem is DEFINITELY only a lyrical rapper :facepalm

I didn't say just a lyrical rapper, you're putting words in my mouth there you idiot. I said he wasn't a clear cut message rapper. And a lot of those storytelling songs that you claim to be real songs are just songs that deal with his personal life. Example, You're Never Over is just a storytelling song he wrote commemorating the life of his best friend. Doesn't mean people can necessarily relate to it in everyday America, even if they've lost somebody that close. His real songs are songs like Lose Yourself, Sing For The Moment, etc.

And I should clarify, since nitwits like you need to be so anal sometimes. I meant real songs, not storytelling. Real songs with personal messages that people in everyday life can relate to. I'm done fighting with you over stupid shit. I made a little mistake in what I was trying to explain, but it still doesn't take away from my point that Eminem is not an artist that is known for real message type songs. When you're dissing a dead man constantly, and then you have a song like Difficult, it makes him a hypocrite, and not only that, he's not on the level of 2pac, where most of 2pac's career, up until All Eyez, but even afterwards, he made real song after real fucking song. Now get off my nuts if you got a problem with my opinion.

You're the one that hopped on my nuts when I gave my opinion now gtfo. 95% of rapper aren't clear cut in either of those two categories. This thread is full of fail by you but I wouldn't have said anything till you decided to be a fuck to me but now you got what you wished for so stopping bitching about it.

Wreckless Music wrote:I really can. Ice Cube, 2pac, Nas were not, are not lyrical. Yes their are types of both. But I'm asking in a rapper which do you like more. So ignore my examples if you have to.

Nas is lyrical you buffoon (both in story telling and in this arbitary system your just pullin out of your ass), and being able to tell a story is still a part of lyricism, so fail on all accounts.

Vinnie Paz, Immortal Technique and Nas are all very lyrical dude :facepalm

Anyways, I listen to anyone who can do both without sounding obnoxious. Most truely lyrical rappers can tell a good story and portray a message through their music as well as be impressive in technical aspects.

Storytelling and conveying a deep message are both part of lyricism. And Nas is lyrical, poetical, has creative rhymes, uses multies, and has creative concepts (Rewind, Fetus, Gave You Power..).

An emcee who strings words together with no message/meaning whatsoever isn't lyrical at all in my book.

Wreckless this kinda shows you know fuck all about music when you simply cannot comprehend that Eminem, (arguably the most blatant example) can do both styles very effectively, a la Lose Yourself and I'm Back for example,

As can probably 60 plus percent of those rappers who have had some success

smh
I know you want to retaliate but you won't dare,
Cause you fuckin with some ****** like this who just don't care.
