Some of them I can't stand, but ones like Sadistik are great :y:

Came back to annihilate, the game's in dire straights, as I await
Word on Satan, as I drop, fall to my knees before this Quija board and I pray
Now I lay me down to sleep
I do this shit in my sleep, I’m sleepin' now, imagine if I awake

I didn't like it at first but now I'm fine with it. You just have to give it a chance.

Sadistik is not from the UK :facepalm

I thought he was? I've only heard a few songs, I don't really know much about the guy. He has an accent, so...where is he from, then?

He deffinitely sounds American :confusion:

Have you ever heard Writes of Passage?

He says

"I'm from the state where the rain will never stop
Hendrix was from and Cobain perfected rock
A place seagulls land where the space needle stands
And fuck Bush stickers decorate people's vans"

Cause the shit I hear is crazy
But your either getting lazy or you don't believe in you no more
Seems like your own opinions, not one you can form
Cant make a decision you keep questioning yourself
Second guessing and its almost like your begging for my help

OT : I LOVE Dizzee Rascal.
...The mortician of love, sent from above
Forced entry, the more wenchy, the more stingy I become
Been doing this for more than a quarter century, I'm just numb...

The average American's attitude to UK Rap/Hip-Hop & Grime now is similiar to how people used to dismiss white rappers back in the day. (Some people still dismiss white rappers to this day, but it's A LOT better than it was)

Then The Beastie Boys came out....cool

Then Vanilla Ice set the white race back a few hundred years with his bullshit.

and then Eminem came along, co-signed by Dr.Dre and now you can't move for white rappers. Eminem has even signed a white rapper himself, and Yelawolf will probably go on to be the 2nd most successful white rapper of all time, as a result.

All it needs is one UK person to make it, and I think more American's will get used to it as time goes by, and eventually it won't be much of an issue anymore.

I'm English, and I KNOW our hip-hop / rap scene can't fuck with America. I KNOW. We have never produced anyone in the same vein as some of your legends, and probably never will.

Nas, 2Pac, Biggie, Eminem, Big Pun, Big L, Kanye, Jay-Z etc - legend after legend

There are many reasons for this which I won't go into now, but basically look at the size of our country compared to yours. The talent pool is a lot smaller, hip-hop is more popular in America than it is in England. Hip-Hop is basically pop in America, that is how big it is. Plus, in our country...LONDON is the only real place where there is a large amount of black people in one place. The rest are scattered throughout the country. All the rappers that are relevant in the UK = from London.

But still I think it is small-minded to say "hate the UK accent in rap". Kind of makes me glad to be English as I can appreciate both rap scenes, and not be small minded and dismiss something because of something so silly.

The UK are making movements though, slowly but surely.

Jay-Z has signed K Koke, DJ Whoo Kid is hosting a mixtape with Giggs, Giggs has done collabs with B.o.B and Wacka Flocka and many other examples.

There will be a UK rapper who makes it big in America, it's just a matter of when....not if.

Who would have thought 30 years ago, the highest selling rapper of all time would be white?

what UK rappers are people talking about?

I like Giggs :y:
others i think are ok:
dizzee
tinie
devlin
professor green
plan b (first album)

UK rappers are ok, some mix it alot. Nothing compared to American rappers, and no rapper is as good as Eminem :shifty:

On a lighter note, here are some UK / US collabs I enjoy.

DISCLAIMER:
I'm not saying these are objectively amazing, nor am I saying this is the best example of UK rappers. Just some personal favs from UK / US collabs only.

Dizzee Rascal Ft. UGK (Bun B & Pimp C) - Where's Da G's?

Giggs Ft. B.o.B - Don't Go There

Diddy Dirty Money Ft. Skepta - Hello Good Morning (Grime Remix)
