It's a rhyme scheme thing. I'm not exactly sure why he wrote it that way, but I can speculate it has alot to do with where the snare hits and how the next line comes in.
It doesn't make sense though, flipping the words around wouldn't change the flow at all.
It's hard to explain. I know what you're saying now, and I've made the same type of rhyme scheme. All I can say is that is does change the flow of how you say things. It makes the scheme more.. Complex, for lack of a better definition.
as I said before, it's all where the snare hits. I haven't listened to the song in a while, but I'm guessing the snare hits on brother / and hugged her
