Have wondred it my self :y:
I wanted an album so rugged nobody could touch it.
Spent a million a track and went over my budget.
Now how in the fuck am I supposed to get out of debt?
I can't rap anymore, I just murdered the alphabet.

You are female, a mainstream fan, a person who had a Rihanna signature/avatar for a long period of time and a person who only cares about chart positions and sales. You are also a person who would rather have a Eminem & Rihanna EP so you can track it's progress and weekly sales figures in the pop charts, than a Eminem & Royce EP because it would have no commercial value and would be strictly hip-hop. You have also admitted you don't really care about hip-hop, and I'm guessing your favourite rappers are people like Eminem, Kanye, & B.o.B etc (the most mainstream rappers). So yeah, on the basis of this information and character assessment, I totally understand why you "don't get how rappers can be soft"

Oh, and for the record....

NOT SOFT

SOFT AS FUCK

I could provide another 50 examples, but I don't want to spam the thread with YouTube videos.

Anne overload

Seriously, no one's really "hating" on Wayne, it's just the cold truth that the Shady roster are much more talented than the Young Money roster. Eminem alone annihilates all of Young Money, including Wayne. Wayne has been ripped to shreds three times on three different songs, I thought you would have learned by now

Came back to annihilate, the game's in dire straights, as I await
Word on Satan, as I drop, fall to my knees before this Quija board and I pray
Now I lay me down to sleep
I do this shit in my sleep, I’m sleepin' now, imagine if I awake

Sorry, but this is Hip Hop. We started out in a park in South Bronx. I suggest you read Afrika Bambaataa's 4 pillars of Hip Hop, and have some respect for its history.

It's perfectly fine for rappers to show softer sides in their music, no one is suggesting them to "hard" all the time.

Look at someone like B.O.B, he sings, but that's what he's been about all the time, you might ask why he doesn't get hate for that? Because that's his music, it always has been, his creative in that aspect as a songwriter. Drake on the other hand is an actor first, and they are easy to spot out. Drake isn't soft just because of his singing, its because of his upbringing, his attitude, his actions (such as attacking Lil Kim, but avoiding any shots from male rappers), to his comments on Trey Songz and Lil Wayne etc.

Drake hasn't paid his dues in Hip Hop to be allowed to get away with anything yet.

I suggest you get yourself acquainted with this if you haven't already. None of this reflects anything Drake does.

Beautifully put, my friend :y:

I like Drake a bit, personally, but I still agree with everything you said.

Don't get me wrong, there's a few Drake songs that I like as well, your mind can't hate on good music just because you don't like the artist overall. His first single (Over?) and that joint he had with Jay-Z (Lights up?) were two of my favourite songs last year. I just don't like his character and persona overall.
