Apologize if this belongs in Chit Chat.
Anyway, I remember around the time that Recovery came out, I saw some review online that talked about tracks like Seduction showing a more "flirtatious" Em, and how the tracks just showed that he had no idea how to age gracefully.
I don't think I had really heard Seduction many times at that point...(I tend to listen to the album straight through a few times and then just listen to one or two songs that I like for a while, then move on to one or two others, so I eventually get to know the entire album pretty well; Seduction came late in the process)...so I didn't form much of an opinion about the review.
Anyway, going back, now that I know the song, I obviously don't agree with the reviewer. I feel like he missed the point of the song entirely.
What do you guys think?
EDIT: It's a small section of the review, but here it is:
"Otherwise the only moments of stretching here come on a pair of songs — “So Bad,” “Seduction” — on which he takes a crack at flirtatiousness, with awkward results. Listening to them makes it clear that Eminem, at 37 one of the most freakishly gifted technicians in rap history, still has almost no sense of how to age gracefully."
