Wasn't it the same with Rooney and Utd fans? He said he's leaving then everyone goes "FUCK ROONEY BOOOO", and then he signs a new contract which makes him the highest paid player, and everyone is back to "ROONEY IS THE BEST OMG"...

That's the epitome of hypocrisy.

Bullshit, its not the same thing, Rooney never said something like that, and after all he decided to stay, but he lost a lot of respect from the fans, and from me too, and he have to gain it back. And hes still a United player, we have to support him, If we boo him it will only lead to him wanting to leave further, im sure hes regreting all the thigs he did, and he wants to earn the love from the fans again. But this will take some time

I don't like a lot of Liverpool fans BUT I do see their anger with this.

If Torres had handed in a transfer request at the begining of the window, signed for Chelsea, then their anger wouldn't be understood.

The difference here is that he didn't hand in a transfer request UNTIL Chelsea showed an interest. He didn't speak of leaving until interest by Chelsea was shown, leaving Liverpool with less time to find a replacement, in this case spending crazy money on Carroll. Also, in his interview he didn't speak at all about Liverpool - you usually hear players saying 'enjoyed my time there', 'time to move on' etc, but he said nothing. Which was a bit disrespectful really considering Liverpool put faith in him and established his name in England.

Onto the Carroll thing (this is gunna draggggg on), two conflicting comments from both camps. I'd usually trust Carroll but the thing that's come out of both stories is that Carroll wanted an improved contract (remember here, he'd signed one in OCTOBER), which the club weren't willing to do (understandbly, we have a tight wage budget). He says that the club then forced him to hand in a transfer request, which is bullshit - he could have easily said no.

He may say "the club didnt want me" but it was HIMSELF (and his agent, I assume) that started this by asking for an improved contract - in other words, for money. If he really wanted to stay, like he says, he wouldn't have even asked for an improved contract, and, even then, could have said "Okay, I'll keep things as they are for now, we'll talk further in the summer".

And this looks like a man who's really upset about leaving:

Rooney never said that? Ferguson himself confirmed it on a press conference a few days before he signed the new contract.

I was talking about those words

It is the dream for every top class footballer to play at a top class club and now I can do that

Thats why i said i lost my respect. And yes i know that Rooney wanted to leave, like i said, after all he decided to stay, and we should try to forgive him

I don't think Rooney ever wanted to leave. It was always just a question about more money. His agent is known for being a bit of a cunt so I wouldn't be surprised if Wayne was badly advised but again; blaming your teammates for not being good enough is pathetic, especially when you've been shit for 6 months.

A lot of people need to remember that these football players aren't fans of their clubs, just employees. If you could move to a better company, and get bigger wages, you'd do it. Sometimes I have to question the top players motives. As long as they are getting £100,000+ per week , do they really give a fuck how they play, or how their team performs?

It really annoys me, and I wish there was more loyalty in football...but that's the way it is.

Football is a mess tbh. I'm falling out of love with it each year.

Players and clubs are becoming too removed from their supporters. Back in the day footballers weren't these so called "superstars" and you could easily find players from your team in the local pub, and you could drink with them, and it wasn't a big deal.

Never going to happen I know, but if it was up to me I'd introduce a salary cap. Maximum amount a footballer could earn = £20,000 per week.

That is still a ridiculous amount of money though tbh, when you think how little Doctors / Surgeons get paid...who actually save peoples lives.
