I'm a virgin and I'm 18, but I'm not really religious and I'm not choosing to stay one until marriage. I just haven't met the right guy yet. The double standard really annoys me, though a lot of people have that mentality. I don't know if it's just because it's cooler for guys to boast about sex or whatever, but there's nothing wrong with a guy that's still virgin. My friend said he lost his virginity at 16 and he thought he was losing it late. Nowadays it seems like you're expected to lose your virginity in high school. But then again, when you have those MTV reality shows like "16 and Pregnant," I'm not really surprised.

I'm 20 and a virgin, not because I'm waiting till marriage or because of religious views. Just because I haven't found the right guy yet. I don't want to have sex just to have sex, or just to get it over with.

I think, as long as you're ready and mature enough, its your choice.

I do think there is a double standard. If guys have sex, they are praised. When a girl has sex, not that people don't respect her, but they look at her differently. Of course, not everyone thinks like this. But I'm in college and I'm just going off of what its like at my school and what I've seen/experienced.

There IS a double standard, but it's hilariously ironic. Guys are considered heroes for fucking many women, while girls are considered sluts for fucking many guys. But, it is 10000 times easier for a girl to get laid than a guy. Guys aren't as picking as girls are, and girls only don't care about sex if they're not attracted to the guy. But the second she sees a "hot" guy, she'd probably fuck him in a heartbeat, regardless of whether he's a good guy.
