I often just pick a random artist from this top 50 and download their best album/the album the journalist recommend.

That list was pretty decent but they totally screwd the top 10 up.

This for me is the most accurate list. The dude's had about 20 year experience with Rap lyrics and i think he does pretty good. I just think Tupac is a little to high, he can get overrated at times. Though people who went through the stage where he was at the top loved him, where i was like just born at the time so i never got the chance to go through that stage.

The author of the top 50 I posted is a little more postive so I think I prefer that one :P It was never really about the order of the list anyway cus I can make my own top 50 if I want.

These days I enjoy listening to Del the funky homosapien's debut album (I wish my brother george was here). Catchy production and entertaining/funny lyrics. He has what a lot of rappers lack: A sense of humour. A little racist at times but whatever.

Lol BDK had good humor too. Del is acutally Ice Cube's cousin from what i heard. Yeah it includes a lot of taste, i don't think someone could be Spot on right, because people prefair Tupac over Biggie Smalls others different. You feel different about things than others, just like what they say. Though the reason i like my list is because a lot of the rappers in the top 10 i find appealing, where i think Ice Cube gets underrated as hell, and i honeslty think he is a top 5 rapper. And i havent heard anyone who says 'The Big Picture' was Big L's greatest album. When all his best quotes are from Lifestylez Ov Da Poor N' Dangerous'.

Jay-Z is FAR too high on that list, IMO. Not to sound biased, but Eminem is mad underrated on that list, he should at least be ahead of Jay. If he would listen to Renegade, he'd realize who the better MC is instantly. Em needs to at least be in his Top 20. It seems like this list was made a while ago

Pretty Good list, though Tech N9ne, Eminem & Big Daddy Kane couldn't be considered as a top 10 in my opinion. There's just to many skilled rappers out there who have done much better. The reason why i think Cube should be a top 5 rapper is mainly because on his original layer of lyricism he's a hard gangsta rapper, but you listen to his albums a few times you will realise he's actually pollitical on a hidden layer.

Okay i'll admit Eminem done better on Renegade, but Lil Wayne done better than Eminem on No Love. So does that mean Lil Waynes better than Eminem?, i hope not. Though Jay Z 'Reasonable Doubt' is one of the most metaphoric albums i've heard, some of the words he says, listen to Regrets'. My favourite track 'I draw my guns better than Picasso' and that Soul line he says about the asian is just great. Honestly i think Jay has done better than Eminem. Eminem is overrated i honestly think he doesn't touch top 20, listening to a lot more rappers skilled than him i could place better ones. And it's better off it was made a while ago, cause i think Eminem dropped since 'Encore' a lot. And i hated the lyricism on Recovery. Though i respect your opinion.

I don't think Wayne did better than Eminem on No Love...but, even if Em's most recent shit isn't his best, neither is Jay's (Blueprint 3 is absolutely horrible to me). Em is a far better lyricist than Jay, to me. But to each his own, I guess :b:

@X Tha Wise

i really respect your opinion man,but saying Em is not a top 5 MC is a crime on its own,after you got litterally every rapper praising him,saying hes crazy and they cant fuck with him,after raising this genre to a whole new level of recognition,he is one of the sickest rappers ever,for me along with nas and rakim,these 3 are THE best artists to do good to hip hop,its quite frankly ridiculous for Em not to be in anybody's top 5.

judging from ur av i think rakim is the GOAT in yo opinion,he is for me too as i stated a couple lines before,but he is the smoothest rapper i EVER heard,his rhymes are so amazingly structred i litteraly jizz hearing him,fav album is payed in full with eric. b.

I swear, most of the people on here are retarded. Point out where I said he was a top 10 lyricist. I specifically said he isn't in the top 10 talent-wise, I just enjoy listening to him. Do you even read the words in front of you?

And point out where i was aiming anything at you?, maybe i was agreeing with you?. Maybe i was just going along with how you said talentwise. I do actually read what you were typing. I wasn't implying you said Drake was a top 10 lyricist. I was just saying Drake is not a top 10 lyricist at all, bascially going with your point. If i was aiming at you, i would of been hurling questions at you about what makes you think he's a top 10 lyricist. But of course you already hurled an insult al ready. I think you should move Retarded out of your sentence and make it a sub heading above your post. Just kidding, easy to get shit wrong but yeah your cool with X.

Yeah Blueprint was a bit of a dissapointment to. Em maybe better than Jay-Z at the moment, i could honestly agree with that. I just don't think Eminem can beat Reasonable Doubt. Though i think you hold a good opinion.

Artists say different things on Camera, a lot of people know KRS doesn't like 50 or Wayne. But on the camera he said Wayne is great and that 50 vs jay z wud be the best beef of all time. Which is total bull shit lol, and he knows it. Rakim never really said it, unless i ain't heard it, i only heard he would be the muhammad ali at rap if he was black. But if he was black he would be less noticable. Though the thing is with Eminem he is very basic a lot of the times, unlike a lot of rappers who are metaphor after metaphor.

The artists you named are good about Diabolic who in my opinion is the hardest rapper out at the moment. Though that list is a very good list, though don't forget that list was made a while ago lol, so that's why Crooked isn't included. And yeah Rakim is great, Eminem has even bitten lines from him 'love is evil spell it backwards i'll show yeah' Rakim said that on the 'Seventh Seal'. Though i didn't really like Recovery. Though i think Eminem is probably 26th in the top 50. Placing him top 5 can be pretty insulting, since theres a lot more lyricists who deserve that and have spit much better than Eminem. Eminem can just appeal mostly because he's very basic, where rappers like Jay Z you gotta listen to him lots of times to get metaphors, and people don't really care about finding out metaphors and messages they like basic straight at ya, Eminem caught attention a lot by that. Though i understand where your coming from.
