This is great stuff. Yeah shame about No Love but i always knew it wouldn't do well as a single he should've released a solo song insted like WTP or something.

Lose Yourself is just doing incredible in its 151st week.

AJ...

Idk if you replied and answered me when I asked about why the billboard only lets singles chart for so many weeks, cause there's no too many posts since to look through these pages, but do you know why?

and also how many weeks it can chart? or any other info about this...thanks

RULES
"Songs are removed from the Billboard Hot 100 and Hot 100 Airplay simultaneously after 20 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 and if ranking below No. 50. Songs are removed from Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs after 20 weeks if ranking below No. 50."

If they didn't have this rule Lose Yourself would probably return to the Hot 100 this week like it is in the UK in its 151st week.

Well I'm glad it gives a ranking to be taken off, and not just 20 weeks.

Still, I think this is beyond stupid. It makes the charts a lie basically, since the top 100 shown aren't necessarily (and probably never) the real hot 100. The only thing that I feel makes this "alright" is if they still are labeled as having ranked at whatever position, and are just not actually shown on the hot 100. What I mean is, if that was confusing lol, is for example:

"Whatever single" gains the stats to be #56 on the charts but is past 20 weeks, it is still given the credit, and if in an article for example would still say "whatever single, while being out for nealry 6 months, is still ranked #56 on the hot 100"...but just not actually charted. Also would pertain to, in the future (like not afraid for example a year from now), saying like "whatever single spent 45 consecutive weeks on the hot 100".

If ^ that is true, than I don't see it really being 'a lie' like I stated in my first paragraph, but still stupid.

BUT if what I said is true, then does that mean the singles that are actually placed on the chart get the recognition and label as charting in those positions? I feel that if this is true, then my thoughts on the songs that chart but aren’t “charted” are not given the title of doing so, which is then bullshit. Either way, something is fucked up, either songs are getting fucked for being popular OR songs are charting that wouldn’t be until these new rules and are therefore getting fake/unjustified success.

Just the fact there are these questions I believe shows how fucked up this is, my thoughts are it involves getting as many songs/artists on the charts as possible to gain sales. That’s really the only explanation I can come up with…anyone else have any thoughts?

For what it's worth... Here's line from an MTV article posted today...

Eminem’s ever growing star power seems to increase as the months pass with the rapper not only netting top honors for having the highest selling album in total global sales but also his buzzed-about Grammy nomination and appearance and now the Motor City bad boy’s flawless segue into the role of commercial actor.

Let's hope for a 28k :smoking:
I wanted an album so rugged nobody could touch it.
Spent a million a track and went over my budget.
Now how in the fuck am I supposed to get out of debt?
I can't rap anymore, I just murdered the alphabet.
