Yela is more skilled then Wayne+Drake.
He just need to write more and better :coffee:
I wanted an album so rugged nobody could touch it.
Spent a million a track and went over my budget.
Now how in the fuck am I supposed to get out of debt?
I can't rap anymore, I just murdered the alphabet.

He's never been good at hooks, but I think with Em's guidance, Yela can greatly improve...he's a very promising MC

I'm pretty sure from this statement you haven't listened to his first two mixapes lmao. Trust me, do not take the few songs you've heard "Pop the Trunk" and "I Wish" probably as indicate as his talents or range as a writer.

He's a fantastic hook writer. He has a knack for writing immediately captivating little anthems. And he can flip it so many ways; rap rock, country rap, metal rap / psycho, calm... He's so versatile. Check them first two mixtapes. You'll be very surprised.

I haven't listened to his first two mixtapes, you're right. I've listened to Trunk Muzik 6-0, which was okay. I like a few of the songs on there, like Love Is Not Enough, I Wish is one, Daddy's Lambo is funny. I like Yelawolf, his voice isn't exactly always the best, but I don't really mind it all that much. I think he'll be able to make much better music after working with Em a few times, though

Well, I'm a couple tracks into Stereo. I never gave it a chance because it's a mixtape and it said "a hip hop tribute to rock" below it's title, so I was always like "lol, the fuck outta here with that shit". Wow was I wrong. This is my favorite work of Yela.

I'll give it to him, he's different. And I don't just mean Kid Cudi different. He's really unique. I already thought this when I heard Pop The Trunk but damn.

I really like the title track & Rich Like Me.

Man forget Em. Check those mixtapes I am telling you.

You, will, be surprised. He already can make the music you think he can't.

He says some interesting things in this interview:

http://www.spin.com/articles/yelawolf-e ... nd-tattoos

Are you planning to work with any producers or guest collaborators?
We had a record from Diplo and we've got a couple records from Jim Jonsin [who produced Lil Wayne's "Lollipop"]. But we had those before we came out here to Vegas. Those are part of the few records that are getting us saying, 'Alright, this is that sound. This is the bar. This is where we want to be."

When's Radioactive out?
Summertime, I'm hearing. Gonna start getting back on the road, getting back to the streets. I only do a few things things. I make music and I do shows. I skateboard and I drink. I make videos and take pictures and shit. And I talk to people [laughs]. I'm trying to stay in everybody's face for the next ten years.

Already knew about that Diplo guy when Dumbfoundead spit on one of his beats. He's a really experimental and genre blending producer. This is my favorite beat from him.

I've never heard of him before. The first track I heard was some electronic disco crap so I thought Yelawolf was going to have something like that on his album. Glad Diplo is actually talented :P

Yelawolf just tweeted this (well, 10 hours ago...):

i've always enjoyed the majority of his music. wasn't a big fan of his album release but it still had some good tracks. i do like the idea of him being on the Shady roster though, Eminem obviously heard something he thought he could work with. I'm curious to see what they can cook up
ahead of my time, in my prime, one of a kind, out of my mind
