Not only was that pretty predictable, but it made it too obvious when you're already left to assume that it's about career. Tracks like Seduction or Space Bound are better because they swing both ways, you are left to interpret them and find deeper meanings from the suggestions you notice after you're done appreciating what's on the surface... but 25 to Life straight up tells you what it's about. It wasn't even a big twist. I also fucking hate the beat.

Even with that line in there, reviewers still didn't realise it wasn't about his wife.

Reviewers are fucking retarded, I'm talking about moderately intelligent people who pay attention to lyrics.

Not true because a lot of people love Recovery.

Yet more people hate it. My point is whatever Eminem has put out since 03 and all his new material will always be criticized and compared to his old material in some way or another.

Relapse has always been great.

All Music Guide gave it a 4/5. Just like they gave Eminem Show. They gave MMLP and SSLP 5/5. So that site does know there shit. Also they were one of the few who didnt buy into the Kanye MBDTF hype and gave that a 4/5. I disagree with there Recovery review...only gave it a 3.5.

My point is that site gave Relapse the same rating as Kanye's MBDTF. So I don't know where the idea came from that Relapse was horrible. All EM said on Not Afraid was it was "Meh". That's not exactly horrible. Just it could have been better. Yeah Relapse could have been better...but it was still better than 99% of the rappers out there.

Outside of his fans Recovery is loved with a passion. Inside his fans Recovery is still the preferred album out of his last three albums.

I don't understand it either, easily one of the best tracks on the album and among my Top 10 Eminem songs...

Oh ho, whoa, ho, but this is just a story of when I was just a shorty
And how I became hooked on Valium

Probably the worst lines of an Eminem song. The fact that he turns the word Valium into a four syllable word is ridiculous. And what does it ryhme it with? "Oh ho, whoa, ho"... nice. Oh but yeah, Recovery was teh sux, amirite? :coffee:

That isn't when the rapping starts... it's just an accented bridge.

What, you think he was seriously rapping when he said OH HO WHOAOA HO? It's just an introduction... that's why he says "this is just a story." He hasn't STARTED the story yet.

The real rapping/story starts when he says "Valium was in everything, food that I ate."

No, the intro is that ye ye ye ye ye ye ye ye aight aight aight aight yo yo yo yo

Anyone who wasn't amazed by Relapse the first time they heard it really has no clue who Eminem ever was nor why he was ever good.

These are the poor, lost souls who had no idea something was SERIOUSLY wrong with him when he put out Encore and ReUp. The same poor, lost souls who rave about trash like Like Toy Soldiers and Mockingbird. He wasn't even recognizable to anyone who knew who he really was...yet they had no idea.

Then after 4 years of Pills-bury Doughboy Zombie, he comes out with Relapse and you not only hear him rhyming his ass off on every track (save the 2005-made "Beautiful"), but you hear vintage Eminem voice on the tracks where he's not doing the accent...something that seemed impossible just months before.

Relapse ain't SSLP/MMLP/TES, but it was MUCH closer to the real him than Recovery, where he said "adios" to disciplined lyricism and trying to recapture his old sound. Then again, naive post-Relapse Eminem went back, listened to his old songs, and went, "Wut's missing is da yelling!!! And I should do some punchlinez like da dope catz like Wayne n Drake n I be dope again"...and many people on this board agree with him. "Hiz yelling now remindz me of The Way I Am!!!111"
