And the winner is:

FreeSpeech wrote:Lupe seems to be trying too hard to be political and deep. He used to do it naturally, now it seems forced. The topic of race in hip hop has been beaten into the ground. "Glenn Beck is a racist" STFU Lupe, get back to meaningful topics. Any 15 year old rapper who thinks he's "deep" could write these lines...

its a stretch but it actually could be a diss at Hopsin. Hop has playfully dissed Lupe about not being able to skateboard.
I wanted an album so rugged nobody could touch it
Spend a million a track and went over my budget
Now how in the fuck am I supposed to get out of debt?
I can't rap anymore - I just murdered the alphabet

Came back to annihilate, the game's in dire straights, as I await
Word on Satan, as I drop, fall to my knees before this Quija board and I pray
Now I lay me down to sleep
I do this shit in my sleep, I’m sleepin' now, imagine if I awake

Just in context, I haven't heard the song... It seems as a diss to 50's skills and originality.

He's just almost referring to it as 'Lupe's dream', that is talking about things that didn't happen in the world, and he dreamed that they did.

He's praising Eminem again here btw. The song is him talking about things that don't happen/haven't happened/didn't happen. There's a been a million of these "what if" type tracks in hip hop, but Lupe is close to perfecting it here, because he's added a different spin to it. Brilliant.

He says.

Eminem fitted in but then again he inspired a black rapper tryin to mimic him
And thats a really rose up out of michigan, the sign of white rapper by the name of 50 cent

So what he means is that he dreams/wished that Eminem did fit in (because he didn't when he started, because of his color). He's practically saying that he wished that it didn't matter what color Eminem was and that he just fitted in, and that he then signed a white rapper named 50 Cent (talking opposites) and that it would be perfect that way.

Great song. I think a lot of us would have missed a lot on first few plays.

yeah that was perfect :y:

Which doesn't make a whole lot of sense if you ask me?
So if I should ever fall and get caught in a hustle
Let them know that I died while I fought in a struggle
From the hoodrats to rich kids lost in a bubble
Spray paint it on the streets and in the subway tunnels
Write it down and remember, that we never gave in
The mind of a child is where the revolution begins
So if the solution has never been to look in yourself,
How is it that you expect to find it anywhere else?

This album is gonna set the bar high for the 2011 competition

Cause the shit I hear is crazy
But your either getting lazy or you don't believe in you no more
Seems like your own opinions, not one you can form
Cant make a decision you keep questioning yourself
Second guessing and its almost like your begging for my help
